It's over, Depor get relegated. **** you Valencia.
Really painful to see Valeron in tears there , he was one of my Spanish favorites .

So Unlucky. Poor refereeing (again!!), the woodwork and a brilliant Aranzubia denied us our goals tonight. Could have scored five.

The curse of the Riazor. Thought we ended it last season.

Worry no more now that they are relegated.

For atleast one season Real need not worry about the curse. But Deportivo can get promoted the next season.

Well we might face them in the Copa. Also our Castilla (Real Madrid B) boys are in the playoffs for promotion to the Segunda, so they might have to endure the curse of the Riazor.:rolleyes

But for now...all hail Cristiano Ronaldo.

Why? For scoring 10 goals in the space of 3 friendly matches? :rolleyes Any game Real played after Barca wrapped up the title should be considered a friendly . If he really deserved to be hailed , he should have done the trick against Barcelona . He's world class , no doubt about that , but just hammering the minnows and f*****g up against Barcelona doesn't deserve a legendary status .

I am sorry but thats really harsh. In the end, he got 40 goals in a single league season. Agreed Messi has performed better the "big" games, but you have to realise the tactics adopted by us made it much harder for Ronaldo to score. He did rise to the occassion in the Copa final and scored a wonderful header.

Fact is, he has had a brilliant season and only ONE player can presently be rated better than him. And even that ONE player has had to raise his own game ever since Ronaldo arrived in Spain.

And you say Barcelona "at the least". I do not know what you mean by that because fact is it only them who seperate this Real Madrid side from silverware.

Actually I meant 'at the most' :p . Thats what mattered most , the difference between winning and losing a trophy was always going to be decided on how well he performed against his rivals , which he obviously didn't with the exception of the Copa del Rey .

Plus goal scoring is not the only criteria for consideration (forget the Pichichi) , you have to credit Messi for his 30+ goals and also for boasting 25 assists in a team like Barcelona where you generally see opposing comments like 'they have Xavi and Iniesta to provide countless number of assists for Messi , so its not a big deal that he scores so many goals ' . Well the thing is he's just outclassed them in both aspects including his big game match winning abilities . Also , most of the goals Ronaldo scored were just mere tap-ins , something Anelka did for Chelsea a couple of seasons back .

Messi had 18 assists, Ronaldo has 11. And I have already said I am not comparing the two because quite clearly Messi has delivered in the bigger occasions more consistently.

Regardless the two are the finest in the business at the moment, and there is no third player who comes anywhere close.

Flat track bully? Well I think that suits a certain Wayne Rooney more.

I was being sarcastic. He's obviously a fantastic player and it's a great achievement.

6 in 12 in Europe's a bit poor by his usually quite high standards though.

Haa @ "flat track bully" term being used in a football context. :lol

With Barcelona and Madrid winning La Liga and Copa Del Rey respectively, I just realized that they will face each other in a two-legged tie in the Spanish Super Cup this coming August. HA! A minimum of 4 El Clasicos next season then. :lol

Sweet . Never realized that . :p

Madrid v Barca
United v City
Inter/Palermo v Milan

Barca v Porto . :D

I can but hope .
