Football | La Liga | Real Madrid forced to sell Ronaldo | ESPNSTAR.com

It was earlier reported that Premier League big spenders Manchester City could consider a move for the Portuguese, and although manager Roberto Mancini has made light of such speculation, it is telling that he joked about signing Cristiano Ronaldo on Friday.
"We have signed Cristiano Ronaldo for ?200million", said the Italian. :lol
He then explained his comment was tongue-in-cheek, but added: "Cristiano Ronaldo is a fantastic player but I don't think he will leave Real Madrid."
Time to pull out that cheque-book, Mancini?

It ain't going to happen! Mourinho and Perez might have lost their head if they decide to sell Ronaldo. The media is just blowing things out of proportion just because of the recent El Clasicos.

By the way, that news was like two weeks ago! :p

Great performance from the NT last night. No signs of disharmony what so ever. The midfield combination of Busi, Xabi, Santi and Silva was excellent, with Borja also doing well in the second half.

Upfront Negredo proved me right, should be starting ahead of Torres. I'd say right now its Villa, Negredo/Llorente (depending on situation/opponent) and Torres last in the pecking order.

Vaughan some questions of the Spanish team:

- Which young player is seen long term left-back replacement for Capedevilla.

- Who are the talented young center-halves who seem like Puyol's long term replacement

- Any other notable defensive mid-fielders to back-up/challenge Busqutes

- Which young player is seen long term left-back replacement for Capedevilla.
Nacho Monreal is the replacement seen presently. He has already played for Spain. But long term I believe its gonna be Jose Angel or Roberto Canella (both Sporting Gijon). There is also Didac Vila from Espanyol (bought by Milan in Jan). Alvaro Arbeloa is always a good backup option to have since he can play both at LB and RB. Played really well against the USA the other night.

- Who are the talented young center-halves who seem like Puyol's long term replacement
Barcelona's own Andreu Fontas and Marc Batra. Bilbao's Mikel San Jose is my choice. Also even though he had a poor 2010-11, I still believe Alvaro Dominguez (Atletico Madrid) is a very good defender.

Bruno Soriano of Villarreal & Javi Marquez of Espanyol. Carlos Marchena (Villarreal) can play as DM as well.

So Granada join Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis at the top flight next season after winning on the away goals rule with an aggregate of 1-1 against Elche. Now, I can resume supporting Real Betis in the La Liga. Valencia come only next to them. :D

I would say Betis are the only Andalusian side that I do not hate. Elche were unlucky last night, legit goal disallowed.

But Rayo makes it 4 Madrid teams next season!

The U-21s beat Ukraine last night and are through to the semis as group leaders.

Really impressed with the more direct approach adopted in the second and third game, and that has made a big difference. Better movement and more clinical in front of goal. Adrian has been excellent with his finishing while the likes of Mata, Javi Martinez, Thiago have moved the ball around well.
