Pathetic performance from Spain, especially the first half. Santi and Llorente were particularly disappointing while Silva was the best player once again. I know its just a firendly but for a lot of the players it was a chance to prove to VdB that they are good enough to make the full strength starting XI. Defence was shambolic - Pique and Albiol were getting outrun way too easily.

Having said, Italy played well. Montolivo was insane - I rate him as one of the finest midfielders in the world - proved that tonight.

Not sure why VdB selected only two proper CBs in a squad of 23. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Lucky escape for Spain. If they had lost to Italy and the Netherlands would have won against England, the Netherlands would be the new number one in the FIFA rankings. Luckily for Spain the match of England vs the Netherlands got postponed.

Raul Albiol lost his first match with Spain.

Also Fabregas is likely to go to Barcelona. He could make his debut against Real Madrid.

Ha this game slipped under my radar, since i was looking forward to the day when Pirlo/De Rossi/Motta would play together in the same mid-field and it seems like they did an impressive job.

Ha ranking systems can be such a joke sometimes. If that scenario would have really occurred that would have been madness. Spain are clearly the best football team in the world, a few insignificant friendly defeats cant change that.

Spain were fortunate to have only lost 2-1 IMO. And Torres picked up an injury?!! :mad

Screw these international friendlies! Thankfully, he only suffered a concussion.

Yes, we should put International tours.

We were just too good for them on the night, was mightily pissed when I saw the ref point to the spot just before half time - all the hard work by Italy was undone by Spain in a flash. But for Casillas, this could have well turned out to be a hammering win for the Azurris! And also a double treat to watch Aquilani score and Torres limp off, seriously things can't get any better! :D Forca Italia!

Seriously... :facepalm

The Netherlands will be ranked first after the monthly update of the FIFA rankings. But it's very likely they will become second again the month after.

Good game. Despite the fact that he squandered chances, I was happy with Benzema's performance - contributing in both our goals. Barca scored through a moment of brilliance (not Messi this time) and a defensive error/bad luck while our goals were the result of hard work and proper build up.

2-2 isn't the best result but its still open. Camp Nou, as always will be intimidating, but we can still very much do it.

After watching the nonsense in the Premier League over the last few days it was good to see some real football.

A good result for Barca considering the injuries and how unfit their side looked compared to Real, who played some excellent football and were the better side over 90 minutes.

What a legend ahaha.

:lol but why does he need to do that is a question though.

Fabregas hasn't won a trophy at Arsenal for 6 years and he goes to Barcelona and win one within days! :lol

On a serious note, why does the El Clasicos these days need to have fights like that? :facepalm
