Who will win the La Liga this season?

Real Madrid looked good going forward tonight, but weren't good at the back. They may win La Liga, but they won't win the Champions League and you can quote me on that.

What a crap second half!

I expected an 8-7 finish!

Neither will Manure then and you can quote me on that. We played way better you did against Pool although it was still poor, I agree.

But then we were without Ramos and Cannavaro, and with Salgado playing you are always going to concede goals.

Although the midfield and forwards are doing their job fairly well. Things can only improve for us, and I think its a matter of time before we hit top gear.

No offence mv, but why do you use "we":p part in your conversation, are you a real part of madrid?..

A) we may not, we won it last year anyway, so have got nothing to prove. I'm just saying Madrid won't.

B) Yeah you did play better than we did, however, you can't really compare a game in La Liga to one in the premiership.

No reason to say united won't do it. Well, apart from the obvious attempt at point scoring.

Anyways would like to see Barca up their game this year. Not very exciting last year.

At the end of the day, United narrowly lost to to the 4th best team in England whereas Madrid struggled against a newly promoted team.

And Madrid lost to Arsenal twice. (just thought I'd slip that in...)

Who beat Barcelona the previous week. My point was actually to question Phil's judgement (or the lack of it) to predict on Madrid's future on the basis of an early season match and comment on our defence when two or our main defenders were not playing.

United have to prove that last season was not a flash in the pan, and that they can do it again. Otherwise how is it different from say Porto winning in 2004 and Liverpool in 2005. Milan won twice in recent times, so they dint have much to prove. We won thrice between 1998-2002, so dint have anything to prove after that. But I agree its been a while now, we are due a win again. Maybe this season.

And Arsenal can have a 100-0 record against us, but I still rather have the 9 Champions league trophies as compared to Arsenal's NONE.

Well put.

Although Madrid are a major force in world football, United have been far superior both on on and off the pitch in recent years.

Last two years mainly. The season before that they finished last in their group. We were rebuilding.

Agreed. Although there is no better sight that watching those dirty Catalans give you a guard of honour. Dont know if I will ever see it again.

Liverpool got to the final 2 years after beating Milan in the final in Istanbul. Not a flash in the pan. United have also got a history of winning the Champions League, winning 3 in their history, with 2 in the last 10 years, which is the same amount of CL wins that Madrid have achieved in the same time period.

The different being m_vaughan, we won our domestic league unlike Liverpool, how can there be any complaints when you when the european cup and the premier league? We were in the semi-finals the season before. I'm guessing you'd settle for a flash in the pan at the moment considering it's about 5 years since you even made it through to the quarter finals.

We'd have won the European Cup a lot more had it not been for the Munich Air Disaster, that I am sure of.

We have won three in the last 10 years. (not counting current season)
