but how often do the top two sides end up meeting in the final, and how often does Germany or Italy not be there despite playing sad football.

At least Germany and Italy have won world cups but have Spain?

Thats my point. Germany and Italy always do well when it matters the most, while Spain have one bad game in four years and get knocked out. But the Euros changed that and should boost their confidence to go all the way in the World Cup.

And while Germany and Italy have won world cups, their current squads are inferior to that of Spain's. I think only Brazil and a correctly-managed Argentina can match La Furia Roja.

I am not saying that Spain and Brazil will reach the final, but if they do it would be the perfect final.

Madrid and Valencia wins tonight would make me pretty happy. Its back to back, which is good as I hate having to wait for a day to see if we have gained or lost on Barca.

Only Raul and Acuna available as strikers for tonight's game. Midfield guys will need to step up and Kaka might be playing as make shift forward.

Madrid without Ronaldo are completely a different side. Other huge signings like Kaka and Xabi Alonso need to stand up...

I don't think thats particularly true. You can't really say his presence would have the changed the results against Milan and more so against Sevilla where we were truly outplayed.

But yes he does get the goals, which at the end is what matters the most. Kaka had one bad game really. Effort wise he has been better than Ronaldo, in my opinion and more of a team-player.

Ronaldo will never be termed as a team player, he is just a goal scorer and Kaka/ Xabi Alonso are way better than him...Well like Giggs, Raul is playing really well even during the end of his career.
