India's fielding is brilliant, like our future. RP Singh did very well, and Sehwag skippered terrificly too. Like setting a ring on the offside, with no men deep when he saw Tharanga was just prodding at deliveries outside offstump and just playing them down the ground. Worked well.

Yes! Its all about reading and learning the game well. Sehwag succeded in doing that. I hope people don't take this for granted. We are a young team and lot of improvement is required before WC07.

Its also good to see sachin playing his shots. In his recent interview, he stated that "if i see it, i will hit it", an attitude of his that we all enjoyed over the years! Kudos to him!

There's competition now for a spot in the team, and it is always good. It brings the best out of the players. Gambhir looks like a bright prospect, at the top order. With Kaif back in, the selectors have to fiddle with about 10 players for 3-4 spots. I think India should improve more on the bowling aspect, the fast bowlers especially, and keeping them fit. What India needs is not one or two bowlers but a combination, just like McGrath/Gillespie, Akram/Younis, and like the great West Indian Quatret.

I, we, hope to see this rise in the standards of the Indian cricket continue for sometime!

Yuvraj won't perform now in the last match.
Don't know why the selectors persited with him for long.
Also todays innings was not one under pressure.
Only time I have seen him play well under pressure is TheU-19 WC Final in 2000 and Natwest Final in 2002.

At least for him, it was big pressure! People were starting to doubt his place in the team! I am sure he is a comeback man too!

RP Singh has been the best find for us! I thought he couldnt make much of an impact on these placid batting pitches! But he seems to kick the ball up the surface and extracts bounce. His speed is much above average and he lingers at the 140's (his fastest this series is 142.5 kph!). And he is a natural swinger of the ball! One more thing is, he is of the Mc Grath type - keeps it simple yet economical! Thats what I got to know of him from these two matches

RP Singh sounds like a very promising bowler. Will have to keep an eye on him next time I watch India play.
His speed is quite good and if he can swing the ball at that pace he is going to be a handful.

Have you actually subscribed to the "Direct TV" or are you in India currently?

Did you all notice one thing? It was announced before the match that Agarkar would play and Sreesanth wont play. But the team management conveniently changed it!

Agarkar was injured.

I agree with you, I want Tendulkar to ......................................Vinob Kambli leaving the field in tears, he wanted to win it for India.
I think you should also check out the Indiatimes blog-"do your commentary" for every Indian match. I simply love it, post anything you want. Some nice healthy comments, game stories etc.

The team seems to be bubbling with enormous energy! What tremendous change a victory does to this team! Now this team needs to keep their heads up when they go through a bad trot! We now know how to win! But we need to know how to work ourselves through to the top when down in the dumps.

The thing is, I cant see another downfall for this team which has already seen a roller coaster ride in international cricket!

Yeah they have already seen how a team can go down after experiencing great wins. So no reason to fear because the India team wont allow the same downfall to happen again.

Not with Ian Chappell at the helm. He will keep India grounded after this great series win and make sure they keep improving on parts of their game which isn't up to scratch.

I agree buddy. Chappel has done a fantastic job with this team. Series against SA will be a great one because they did the same against NZ as India did against SL.
