Sri Lanka tour of India - November/December 2017

That would be miserable but not as miserable as Vijay missing out. Also, somehow all misfields and drops happen when Umesh is bowling. He also loses his mind when he sees grass on the wicket. Instead of bowling accurately he just spurs it all over the pitch. I feel Bhuvi apart, all our seamers can bowl wicket taking deliveries and bowl magic balls but they lack consistency/accuracy on tracks that assist them.

Don`t you think its got a lot to do with the long layoff between this test and the last one they played. Unlike Bhuvi, they had very little cricket in between. In the last test match season where Umesh and Shami were regularly getting games, they were more accurate and bowled with much more control. I feel its a little unfair to drop either of them for SA.

Possible 15 overs remaining with the weather just starting to get a bit dark. Will be interesting to see Dickwella's approcah started off in his typical attacking manner still Draw holds the upper hand in terms of the outcome of this match.

This game is done now. What really has saved SL is Herath`s efforts yesterday. The time they ate up coupled with the fact that India had to bat that much longer in the second innings is what has saved them.

To be very honest with you, I really don't care about this test match other than the 30,000 vCash I will lose. Neither did I care about any of the jobbing home games we played bar the Australia and England series. I have a lot of expectations from this lot of quicks we have because they're genuine quicks. Even if we lose in SA, I want us to fight and if this lot of quicks can be patient in SA, I won't rule out some pretty low scores for SA. I also agree with you that these 3 should be our prime picks in tests.

I've always liked Dickwella but now I've become a bit of a fan. :D

Yeah i said that yesterday that Hearth innings could well be the turning the point and mostly looks like it . Although 5 down now but its a tad too late i reckon.

How much will Kohli's 100 cost us?[DOUBLEPOST=1511174759][/DOUBLEPOST]BK should try a couple of yorkers here.

It has already cost us a match. There is no way SL are losing this even with 6 wickets down.

Seen cricket long enough to never rule anything out. But, it was very very costly. This is where people need to understand that yes, the captain is the most important person but the coach can play a pivotal role in guiding the ship.[DOUBLEPOST=1511175222][/DOUBLEPOST]Kohli, for all my criticism of him is a very selfless bloke when it comes to giving up personal numbers for winning games. It's his DNA and I love that about him. He was visibly asking if he should declare and Shastri was asking him to continue. It will cost us the test match.

I don't know what Chandimal is complaining and gesturing about from the dressing room. He's looking like a bit of a fool.

Spare of thought for Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled his heart out today also in the match that too after playing a long limited overs season. Man of the match contender for me alongside Lakmal who battled his knee niggle to produce some outstanding bowling in both the innings. Pujara's knock of 52 in extreme conditions deserves as much credit as player would get for scoring a double hundred on a good batting track.

LOL. There's not even a mention of the declaration in the media. It shows how the BCCI controls everything.

I surely see us having SA in a few 100/5 situations but my worry is whether we will be patient enough to finish the job off. Remember, the last tours to SA and NZ were not disasters either. We could`ve realistically come out of both those series with 1-1 draws. The biggest issue we had was of finishing sides off after good starts. The same happened at the GABBA against Australia as well.

Agree. For that I would pick Kuldeep over both our current spinner but it won't happen. IMHO, SA's batting also isn't the greatest at the moment.

Sri Lanka could'nt even have chased 150 here on Day 5 + 4th innings. India really missed a big opportunity by not declaring at 180 lead.

What was Kohli thinking? His captaincy has been quite disappointing tactically.
