When your entire batting lineup averages in 20’s in the last 2 years, scoring those 30-40 seems better. We are asking his head to be chopped when we just let go Puji and Jinx after 3 years of failure.

Rohit Sharma was guilty of the same thing during the beginning of his career. Had the selectors and the team management gone your way, then we wouldn't have our current captain in the side anymore. That is why you put faith in a player and groom him where he lacks. The returns may or may not be immediate but it does give a huge huge return in the long-term.

Something to gain for Sri Lanka over here against a strong Indian team at home. Suddenly India looks a different side under Rohit Sharma. Oppositions around the world should actually worry this Rohit-Rahul combo!
