Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand

I must admit I saw a couple of shots during the match, and as always thought it looked dubious, but they've tested it so many times and every time the same answer is come to that it's basically an optical illusion because his wrist bends so much due to his unique double joint and creates an illusion that his entire arm is more bent than it should be.

I will also say that whichever New Zealand commentator it was that was suggesting they test Murali after every series was an absolute muppet, talk about victimising the poor chap.

Was a brilliant ball indeed. Overstepped. Vettori had to face some pretty fast deliverys, brave innings indeed. I really do rate Vettori, 10 wickets and a fifty in the same match. He is without doubt the best spinner allrounder in the world and must be up there as one of the best all-rounders.

There was an interesting happening when Taufel started wearing a coat. Was great. Props to Taufel for that. It was to help us see the ball, you could tell the Sri Lankans wern't happy. The umpiring was great overall. No complaints there.

I would say we can now call him an all rounder if he wasn't already. He pretty much has to bat well though with the state of the pitches in NZ as he hardly gets to bowl and usually doesn't get many wickets in NZ.

man this Murali debate never ends does it, and that commentator that sugested that has absolutely no idea what hes talking about. lol if Muraly wasnt geting so many wickets there wouldnt be so much arguments about this, hes a genius with a helicopter wrist, best out there now. but moving on a grat win for Sri Lankans a well deserved man of the match for Silva came back well after the 2 ducks in the 1st test. im not a big Ashes fan and for that reason i say that for me this was a more exciting sereis, Kiwis playing great in the 1st test and than Sri Lankans in the 2nd, props to Vettori for bringing up the fact that he was being underbowled and look what happend when he bowled alot of overs, 10 wickets for the match in a losing cause. and Malinga boy he bowled some fire out there freakin yorkers were crazy and he realy bowled 2 lengths out there short and yorker. good sereis all around cant wait for the ODIs both have been good in the past year.

It was Martin Crowe. I think he needs testing every now and then, but all the time, yeah, thats going a bit far.

He is a little like that, but I like him, because he always says what he thinks.

He did show himself up earlier this year though when he had a go at Bangladesh only winning one of their 44 tests when it took New Zealand 44 tests to win their first one.

Yeah he totally overdoes it to be honest and it is an optical illusion. The best example was Mikey Holding admitting on air during the ENG tour that it was. He along with Ian botham was one of the biggest doubters of Murali's action but he was part of the panel that increased the angle to 15 degrees.

Martin Crowe needed to get over it to be honest. He was totally victimisng Murali. ITs all good saying wat u thnk but he has to realise that its a worldwide audience and he's a former player and has a resposibility as a commentator to be unbiassed and fair, allowed to have his opinion but really was taking it too far.

He was a bit of a nob to be honest i actually listened to his Cowdery lec dat he gave at lords and he said dat if u can visbly see bowlers bending their arms then they should just be called and removed just like dat. Thats like saying that when the ball passes the outside edge of the bat and a noise is heard the umpire shld give it out without taking into consideration if the bat hit the ground etc etc.

Watever happened to Jeramy Coney? I hope he comes back for the ODIS!!!!!!!!!!!

Coney has been in the studio on sky sports for this series, I've quite liked listening to him during the intervals.

What for? The Ashes or what. Which sky sports?

It's a shame he isn't here, because he is definatly one of our best commentators. Very smart man. Does fantastic pitch reports, probably the best at it.

I was wondering where he was. Our current line up is a little bit make-shift. Apparantly a Sri Lankan (I forgot who) is comming for the ODI's.

I agree Andrew, i think Martin Crowe is a jumped up elitist who has little control over his emotions. He doesnt like Muralitharan because he is different, and because he got a first ball duck against him (i think i'm right).

I think Bangladesh have come a long way from when they were first promoted to test status.

I am sure the Australians wont forget Bangladesh in a hurry!

He was basically in the studio with some presenter for Sky Sports 2. They would use him for analysis during the intervals, and then at around 2am when the New Zealand game would be at the end of it's days play, they would have him discussing the upcoming days play in the Ashes, before their coverage ended and they would then have Eng v Aus on Sky Sports 1.

He's a very animated man when he's in a studio!

Jeremy Coney is an ex teacher , also known as Jerry, or the Mantis (because of his long limbs looking like a praying Mantis). It would have been awesome to have him as a teacher i think. He is my favourite NZ commentator by far. Mark Richardson is ok too, Chris Cairns was great while they had him on for a little while, and Danny Morrison doesnt grate on the nerves like some. The rest can be a little too pessemistic and negative instead of dwelling on the positive from teams.

But Jerry Coney is an intelligent thoughtful commentator who does a little radio as well, its always great fun watching his pitch reports, but sometimes he gets carried away.

most likely Arivinda Da Silva?

NZ won the toss and are batting first. No real team shocks from the Black Caps but SL have left out Malinga which was a shock.
