Super 8: 20th Match England v India

Karthik had a pretty decent tour of England last time around as well. But the point is that I think Dhoni preferred not to play two keepers in the same XI, since I believe he hasn't had great results with that in the past. A specialist batsman, specifically an opener, may have been a good idea.

Taking a look at the IPL 2 stats Kohli would probably have been the best bet. Or they could have pulled a complete random and sent someone like Manish Pandey. :p Though I think that may have short-circuited the young guy's career.

Yeah, Manish Pandey has me excited, but I'd never think of him as a replacement, knowing the depth in fringe we have - the BCCI probably haven't got the guts to do it anyways. I would've loved to see him in England, but his inexperience, would have probably been a big factor in any case.

@ Howsie: Yeah, Sharma and Raina are definetely a tad overrated. Most of Raina's performances have come on flat pitches. And, Sharma has been pretty fail at international level. The talent is there, but in all honestly, when you play on a majority of Indian pitches, that's what these guys get. Flat pitches, and the BCCI really needs to open their eyes and provide some variation, and provide less teams in domestic cricket so that some guys won't have inflated averages from playing rubbish bowling.

So before I go to sleep I would say the following:

1 - England deserved the win. Good batting, brilliant bowling, exceptional fielding and outstanding captaincy and field placing by Collingwood.

2 - It is only Twenty20. One month from now I would have forgotten this game ever happened.

3 - India are not the best team in the world.

4 - Dhoni is not to be blamed and is the best man to lead the team.

5 - Yuvraj Singh is a brilliant cricketer.

Excuse me Sohum. :p

I took a lot of crap from some of your fans about that the other day.
I have to admit that you called it pretty early and I was one of the doubters. ;) Good to have a thoughtful member from New Zealand (not saying that most of you aren't thoughtful...).
