I think it is you who needs to study and gain some knowledge in cricket not me. Sri Lankan pitch are flat and helps spinners mainly. That is the reason they have so many spinners in their domestic cricket with bowling average of 15 to 20.
I also heard people saying the same thing in 2007 WC but India end up winning that WC. So predicting before WC has even started is not an intelligent thing to do.
flat were the pitches in Bangla, where Kohli made 183*. These are slow and low pitches, not ideal for batsmen, especially for Non SC teams.
I think is's the right time to introduce someone who can hit it big for Sri Lanka,
We got Thissara perera but that isn't enough,
B Rajapaksha
S Pathirana
AK Perera
are the best solutions available.
Mathews+Perera isn't enough? Who would you replace in the current team?
Mathews? he is not in good form, whenever he tries to hit it big, he gets out.
I would replace Chandimal and Sanga with Any of the player mentioned and Kusal Janith(WK). I'm not very sure about Sanga but I think he should retire from T20 and let the youngsters jump in)
Its only 20 overs. ANy team can win. It is not so much of quality as quantity in this format
Yuvraj Singh is gunning to make himself fit for this tournament (Source: Indiatimes Cricket). If Yuvi is fully fit and plays in this tournament, India's chances would be greatly boosted. His big hitting prowess and his handy left arm spin and more so on the slow and turning surfaces of Sri Lanka would be mighty handy.
Without Yuvraj, India's chances are 50%, but with Yuvraj, India's chances jump up to 80%. But hope Yuvi doesn't force himself into a premature comeback. After he terms himself fully fit, he should play enough domestic cricket to get into match form.
