T20 World Cup 2012

If any team can win then the ICC should disbarn the T20 cup and we as fans shouldnt be wasting our time followin it and posting on threads like this, furthermore sponsors should also pulled put?

Its a sport mate.

Got it?:rolleyes

I don't think the concept. Its a short version. I would not be surprised if Zimbabwe got to the semi's. Because it is so unpredictable is what makes it exiting and the sponsors roll in. The ICC are making money, because of the fun

I say, any team can win the t20 world cup 2012.you might have seen zimbabwe's win over south africa yesterday.

^my point exactly. T20 is not a game for temperament as such or class. Come to think of it a lot of players that are good at it are crap in the "proper" forms of cricket

These things happen in other forms of cricket mate, recall the 1983 world cup final when the Indians defeated arguably one of the strongest teams ever to play ODI cricket the WI, or some years ago when Bangladesh defeated the a very strong legendary Australian team, I can go on and on..........till the defeat Pak faced at the hands of the Irish.

So by your logic then it is safe to say ODI is just as predictable as T20?

No its not.

what you guys are failing to realise is that T20 cricket is still in its infancy stage, and we cant say for sure which team is the best to chose as we havent learned much from the game as yet.

^first if all I think you mean unpredictable. And no, because of the increase in length you actually need good skills and temperament. you can't just hit. Take Shahid Afridi. Averages just 20 odd in ODI, shows you actually need to understand the game further

Temparament, yes I agree with you there, while skills may not be necessary less for T20, maybe just a different type of skill you need for T20 cricket.

Anyways I think we are going a bit off topic here. I stand my opening posts that India surely are not in line to lift the cup theyre just too weak these days as they have been for most of the past.

Yuvraj Singh is gunning to make himself fit for this tournament (Source: Indiatimes Cricket). If Yuvi is fully fit and plays in this tournament, India's chances would be greatly boosted. His big hitting prowess and his handy left arm spin and more so on the slow and turning surfaces of Sri Lanka would be mighty handy.

I agreed with you up to here.

Without Yuvraj, India's chances are 50%, but with Yuvraj, India's chances jump up to 80%. But hope Yuvi doesn't force himself into a premature comeback. After he terms himself fully fit, he should play enough domestic cricket to get into match form.
Why'd you have to go and spoil it? :lol If I was a delusional fanboy for India, I still wouldn't give them more than a 20% chance.:p

WTH are you on about? Sport means you have to know who's going to win before every game or tournament? You've been hanging around with too many bookies mate.

Some of us (and some sponsors clearly agree) enjoy an open competition, and feel that sport is better for it. Also, India certainly do have a chance of winning - so deal with it! ;)

Lolz ath the bookie comment. I agree India as well as the other teams have a chnce to win, hence theyre part of the competition. anyways I reported your post, no need to troll mate we're just having a healthy discussion thats all.

That opinion I agree but but INdia should not be taken lightly

You must see here that India are playing in highly familiar conditions. The last time we played a World Cup in the subcontinent, we won it. In subcontinental conditions, guys like Sehwag, Raina, Dhoni, etc bring out their best attacking game. The major problem we have is the absence of that one figure who lends balance to both batting and bowling and is highly influential with his exploits in T20. Yuvraj fits that bill.

I still maintain that without Yuvraj, we have a 50% chance and with him we have a 80% chance (atleast!).

Well with no doubts India can only win in their home ground .:lol

we did not even get a chance at our homeground.we have already shown england the number 1 test team at dubai.that is not our homeground.and i know that we can play best in our pakistan.the world cup 2011 was to be held in pakistanb, sri lanka, and india but it was changed to bangladesh.if it was pakistan we would have won the world cup 2011

If you really thought so, it would mean you would be offering us odds of 4/1 when we bet against India winning the comp. I'm not a big gambler, but I'd certainly put 1000 vcash on at those odds - easy money.

Who else wants some of the loot SaiSrini is giving away?
