T20 World Cup

Imo T20 cricket should only be played at domestic level. Maybe play one T20I as a warm-up to an ODI series, but for example three in the upcoming South African tour of New Zealand is overkill. They're just a flip of the coin, so I don't see the point in a World Cup for it.

Anyway, for New Zealand Ronnie Hira should be there. He's been the best bowler so far in the HRV Cup this season, with eight wickets at 16 and an E/R of 5.95. He's also a useless lower order batsman, and he's a great fielder. So he's effectively the perfect player for Sri Lankan conditions.

Out of the 15 man squad that went to Zimbabwe for the limited overs series' in October, I'd bring in Southee for Aldridge, Hira for Williamson, and McGlashan for Watling.

So my team would be:

McCullum, B +
Guptill
Ryder
Taylor *
Nicol ^
Franklin ^
McCullum, N ^
Bracewell ^
Hira ^
Mills ^
Southee ^

McGlashan
McKay
Oram
Woodcock

That squad could probably actually do with another batsmen for either McKay or Oram. I can't think of anyone atm, so I'll just leave it as that.

No White? Hes captain!

David Warner could be named Australia's Twenty20 captain | thetelegraph.com.au

May not be for much longer! It's probably a bit of a beat up, but the point is that Cameron White is no lock for the side, and I've personally thought his captaincy has been overrated. He's been successful in state cricket yes, that doesn't automatically make him a Stephen Fleming level captain. Giving him a spot because of his captaincy seems stupid as it seems most would agree :p

Wouldn't be a bad choice temporarily since White certainly isn't a certainty based on current form. But if White regains his big hitting form he could keep it, since although he is a option i wouldn't want to burden Watson with captaincy at all.

White looks done to me, Warner would be the ideal captain as he is indeed the first one picked for T20 and is in the ODI and Test side so him as captain actually helps with our future.

Zaheer Khan for a T20, I don't think that's a good idea.:noway

hmmm.... by the way... Watson seems to me a good prospect for captaincy of T20 Cricket... but oh welll... there is a new guy in town now

Made my changes to your above team. Changes in bold! Irfan for Zaheer, Kohli for Rohit Sharma/Uthappa would be my changes. The rest of the changes are in the batting order.
