Any good romance in Thupakki or just total action?

More than romance, its romantic comedy in Thuppakki. There is this segment between Vijay and Kajal which is very funny. If you are expecting some intense romance, its not there as this is a Murugadoss commercial film.

Lot of comedy handled by Kajal... She is good at it too! Her scenes with Jayaram and Vijay are a riot!

Thanks for that Sai.I prefer only intense romantic films generally.Sometimes family sentiment too. Will see other films only if friends force me to come :thumbs

Not far, it's not to do with the theaters, the Tamil Mandram here just has no faith in it's members. :p

We were in the same boat as you were till last year.... The Tamil mandram here used to screen a Tamil film once in a while. But now, new distributors have come up and they have started sub-leasing Tamil films directly to the theatres here (e.g. Rave Motion Pictures). That's why we have 3-4 shows a day now for Thuppakki. They are showing Thuppakki here till Sunday for 3-4 shows a day. And you can book tickets directly from the theatre or online (movietickets.com).

Happy that a Tamil movie is releasing like this in my area. Hope it happens for you too. You don't have a big city nearby where you can drive down to?

P.s: After last night's premier show and the response, our local theatre here have bumped up ticket prices for Thuppakki to $15 for all shows. The movie is getting terrific response overseas and in India. Vijay has probably got a true blue blockbuster this time!

This has kinda-sorta started up here too, some of the recent releases(Thandavam and Maattrraan in particular) have been done by actual distributors and so we've had a few shows after the premiere at actual quality theaters. Think it was Maattrraan, we had shows through the weekend or most of the weekend, which is just unheard of down here.

Thupakki releasing on a Tuesday probably played a huge part in the better distributors mind and thus the movie not releasing at Regal Cinemas with more shows.

Watch out. Probably they might show Thuppakki at your place during the weekend. With the word of mouth being 'fantastic' for the film, most likely the demand will result in more shows being added. Here already they increased the movie ticket prices, and have extended the running of the film till Sunday.

In all this hullabaloo, has anyone watched "Poda Podi"? Puli, padam parthutiya? Simbhu fan aache nee.... :D

Ah, ennada prechana varlaye nu parthen. Thuppakki la namadhu brothers Muslims ah iliva kaatra madhiri scenes illala? But a local party is suggesting to remove those scenes(if it exists, I don't know anything as I haven't watched)

Source: A fb neutral page. Seems Poda Podi is a music/dance genre. That's why they selected Varalakshmi as heroine. Both films are good it seems but PP couldn't compete the lead actor.

Hey, sathiyama illa pa. Sai ah form panni vittutaru. I'm Dhanush fan, you know.

Oh I know, I'm just kidding. ;)

Seriously, after Osthe, I would think twice, thrice, before watching another Simbhu film, only he could turn a blockbuster into a bomber.

I am reading decent reviews of Poda Podi on orkut communities..... But since its Simbhu, I am highly skeptical. Avan voice onne podhum turn off panna (even in VTV, his voice would act as a major turn off).

@Puli; Nadula Simbhu Simbhu nnu sollitu irundhiye, that's why asked... Dhanush is a good choice! :)

Dhanush is a good choice!

Will be great if he changes his type of directors. GVM can do great with him if he's westernized. He's smart-looking with coat and his new hair style(front spikes).

Kochadaiyaan, Vishwaroopam enna achunu theriyala?! Seekaram release pannunga pa. It would have been blockbuster if any of those two released in this Diwali. Diwali is a special time in which big and hyped films will always be hit. Eg: Last year, 7aum arivu and Velayutham enjoyed success.

Orkut nu onnu irukutha? I thought it's done and dusted. FB rules now.

This year Thuppaki and Poda Podi have come right? And Thuppakki according to opening reports is fantastic!

Kochadaiyaan should be blamed on Soundarya. Recently, KSR (who was the direction supervisor) left the project due to the consistent delays. KSR likes to finish his films quickly and on time. Vishwaroopam kooda enna aavudhu nnu theriyala. Recently Kamal released the Auro 3D trailer. Hope it comes out by end of this year.

Dhanush ippo pora track nalla dhan iruku. After Kolaveri, he is trying out different kinds of film. He is doing a Hindi film, and is also doing a Tamil film with Bharat Bala (the ARR Vande Mataram guy) which is a very different story. Dhanush-GVM romba odd ah irukum. I want a Dhanush-Maniratnam film. Dhanush-Bala would also be great. And Dhanush-Shankar too
