Haddin is'nt even that good what you people are making out of him.

If he would have been he would have made it to the Aussie team ,the same way as Gilli made it despite being in Healy's shadow.

Of the list I suppose McCullum for ODI's and Sangakarra for Tests.

But seeing whatever little of MS Dhoni,he would be right up there in a year or so

Dhoney seems to be a hard hitting lad, but I guess he still hasnt been tested enough yet. We will see how good he is over the next twelve months or so.

Brad Haddin is also a good bet but he hardly gets a game for Australia. Khaled Mashud is pretty average. Kamran Akmal has shown glimpses but like Dhoney, he too has lots to prove. West Indies seem to have a new keeper in every tour.

However I think one name that I missed out on that list was Tatenda Taibu.

Definently! Since the whtie cricketers left Zimbabwe, he has carried that team

Jones wicketkeeping is improving all the time. Don't think he dropped a catch in the ODIs.

Sangakkara is the second best.

The white cricketers didn't leave Zimbabwe they were forced out for being white.

It's a big shame because with the Flowers, Streak, Blignaut and Ervine in they are a ok side.

kamal got turned to poop last series agaisnt aus, geraint has made 77 odd agaisnt us in the natwest series and kumar got a 100 i think

Akmal was one of Pakistan's better performers in Australia.

Gilchrist was pushing his way into the team as Healy was headed for retirement. Gilchrist was hardly living in Healy's shadow, the man who did that was Darren Berry, the former Victorian captain. By the time Gilchrist retires, Haddin will be well into his thirties. Assuming he stays in the good graces of selectors, he will only have a few years before he retires from international cricket and is replaced by a younger, more long term prospect.

Now for Haddin to be selected, in this side, would you drop Gilchrist? No. You would have to drop a specialist batsman. So not only is he competing with the keeper for a spot, he has to prove he is better than every other batsman in Australia. Frankly that's just not a condition placed on any other international class wicketkeeper and I don't think it should be placed on any of them at all.

Well what I meant was if really Haddin is that goooooooood why not have in the team. No doubt he is good but he was made out to be like second best in the world which he is clearly not.

Well he has hardly got a chance to show his talent.

His record says :
M I NO RUNS HS AVG BALLS SR 100'S 50'S
10 9 0 158 32 17.55 230 68.69 0 0

DHONI'S RECORD :

The thing that surprises me with Jones is his power he is quite small.

its not about comparing India's 1 to Aussies 2 because we are talking about who is the 2nd best keeper in the world NOT INDIA VS. AUSSIES, so it doesnt matter if he starts or not The Question is Who is the 2nd Best Keeper in the WORLD?

Mark Boucher is the second best after Gilchrist. I havent seen too much of Sangakkara.

As ronny said, after a year Dhoni would be up there vying for the second best wicketkeeper batsman slot. And for those who said Dravid, I think the poll creator should have included "specialist wicketkeeper/batsman"
