Pick 2

Mick Lewis
Nominated by @ahmedleo414

59594.jpg

Stats
List A :- 121 wickets @ 30.52 (BBI 5/48) in 94 matches
ODIs :- 7 wickets @ 55.85 (BBI 3/56) in 7 matches

Can one match end a career? Yes, of course. The well renowned holder of the Most Expensive Spell in ODI cricket, Mick Lewis find himself nominated as the next pick.

To be honest, whoever gets this would feel himself lucky considering they are getting a good enough bowler whose stats got skewed by just one match. He is a good wicket-taker (as his T20 average of 14.97 from 20 matches shows) and can keep the runs down (List A economy of 4.9)

And the lucky guy is....

@Rabbit Hood

A good pacer to start the team...

Robin Uthappa

Pick 3

Mike Procter
Nominated by @Aislabie

GettyImages-585036202-e1568531079737.jpg

Stats

List A :- 6624 Runs @ 27.94 (5 100s, Best 154*) and 344 wickets @ 18.76 (7 5WI, BBI 6/13) in 271 matches

One of the best ever all rounders in the Game of Cricket, he never played ODI cricket, owing to South Africa's isolation. What the whole world missed was, a star all rounder who could turn the game on his own, with his big hitting and reliable batting and his fiery quick bowling. Any team getting him is getting two players at the cost of 1.

And the EXTREMELY LUCKY guy is....

@Aislabie

A good use of a loophole I left intentionally, just to see whether people read the rules carefully or not.

Pick 4

Vivian Richards
Nominated by @Yash.

Stats

List A :- 16995 Runs @ 41.96 (26 100s, Best 189*) and 290 wickets @ 30.59 (3 5WI, BBI 6/24) in 500 matches
ODIs :- 6721 runs @ 47.00 (11 100s, Best 189*) and 118 wickets @ 35.83 (2 5WI, BBI 6/41) in 187 matches

One of the best cricketers to play ODI cricket. Viv Richards was centuries ahead of his contemporaries. Batting with a Strike Rate of 90.20, he would rip apart bowling attacks for fun, with unmatched swagger and style.

Now you would already know who would be getting this player

Of course, I am gonna use the loophole I myself designed...

Pick 5 & 6

Mpumelelo "Pommie" Mbangwa
Nominated by @qpeedore and @Parth D

b1969-1520412568-800.jpg

Stats

List A :- 38 wickets @ 54.39 (BBI 3/29) in 64 matches
ODIs :- 11 wickets @ 103.63 (BBI 2/24) in 29 matches

Whenever there is a luck based draft based on List A cricket, Pommie Mbangwa is a sure thing. In the Lasagna Draft, we saw him being 'panesared' 4 times, and this time also, he has been nominated twice.

With the worst bowling average in history of ODI cricket, Pommie Mbangwa was an okayish first class fast bowler, who never seemed to adjust to Limited Overs cricket.

The lucky people who are fighting for this guy are

@Aislabie and @CerealKiller

The extremely lucky guy who gets Pommie as their strike bowler is...

@CerealKiller

With Dwayne Leverock and Pommie Mbangwa, this has been a great start to a fearsome bowling attack.

Damn sure no is going to nominate me unless someone used random generator :P

Reserves list here I come!

Pick 7

RP Singh
Nominated by @Rabbit Hood

Stats

List A :- 190 wickets @ 28.73 (3 5WI, BBI 5/30) in 136 matches
ODIs :- 69 wickets @ 33.95 (BBI 4/35) in 58 matches

An extremely talented bowler who never really lived up to the expectations that he showed in his early career. After winning a man of the match award on Test Debut and playing a major role in 2007 WT20 win for India, his form fell soon and he never recovered.

At least he keeps wicket.

I figured there would be someone giving themselves a player...hmm...

(EDIT: No players given to me, excellent. And actually the players picked aren't that terrible. Leverock is handy as a bowler. Pommie is decent enough, he just doesn't take wickets. RP Singh is not bad. Kwame Tucker though...ouch.)

i am in the same boat as yours....

Once that boat isn't the Titanic then we should be okay in the end.

(EDIT: Everything following this is an edit)

That Leverock catch is something that is one of those "where were you?" moments. I recall it well. The match was at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. At the time I was in university, about 20 minutes car drive away from said Oval, watching the match with my friends while having more than a few adult beverages (it was in the morning, but in uni the morning is just a continuation of the night before) and waiting for our turn in the lab.

"Look at this big fella in the slips," a colleague said.

"Hey, them guys can be good you know," another colleague, looking up from the billiards table, replied.

"Well, if anything if the ball goes to him it can't go anywhere else..."

The ball. The edge. The dive. The catch.

Silence.

We were now looking at each other, mouths agape. A couple guys were shaking their heads. One of the girls had her eyes open so wide I could almost see her brain.

"He didn't..." someone, I forget who, began.

"But he just did," someone else said. "Look at the celebrations. This guy is running faster than he ever ran...he's practically doing a victory lap."

"No, I did NOT just see what I just saw," a third person chipped in. "That's impossible."

"Guys, anyone wants to duck out of labs and go watch the rest of the match in the Oval?"

That last statement was from me.

Well, we didn't go to the Oval (nobody could legally drive given the beverages and all) but we missed the lab and watched Bermuda fight. And fight they did.
