Burgundy and White for the Wulfs :)

Spin, do you mean we lose more points losing to an elite team than losing to any other level team? Or that we lose more points losing to an elite team than we would if we were lower level ourselves?

The latter. Hard to explain in a clear manner really.

Thanks for all the colours, keep them coming to make the table look less boring!

I know, I tried to work it out differently but it appears we are both in the top 9 active teams on PC. It will hopefully not harm us too much, although it means we lose more points for losing to an Elite team than we otherwise would. I am hopeful anyway, I beat The Falcons last week :p

Just to liven up the rankings table, if you wish you can post or PM me with your team's colours, either 1 or 2 colours. Just to make things look nicer and so you can identify your team

Red and Black please.

Btw, where are those rankings that LH was talking about?

The groupings decide the amount of points you gain/lose in the rankings table for a result. For example, An Elite team beating an Elite team earns them 1 bonus point, but an Elite team beating a Lower team gets them 0 extra points. Conversely, A Lower team beating an Elite team gains 2 bonus points and the Elite team would lose 2. They have no bearing on any competitions, they just effect the ranking table

I don't know whether that example was literal, but I think teams should earn points for beating teams lower than them, just few in comparison to those that a lower team gets for beating a higher team.

While I agree that low teams beating high ones should earn good points, they shouldn't get too many - a couple of flukey wins sending a team to the top of the rankings will render them fairly pointless.

Will you take into account if teams play a weaker side due to PFL issues? Maybe if they let you know in advance, they should fail to lose any (or certainly not many) points from the match, but also sacrifice any they would have gained if they still won.

I think to explain it clearly I am going to have to share the scoring system to clear things up.

The rankings are done on a Points per Game basis, I should explain. Points are awarded for:

Win - 3pts
Tie - 1pt
Loss - 0pts
For every 1 wicket/10 run margin of victory - +1pt
For every 1 wicket/10 run margin of loss - -1pt

Bonus points based on rank - Wins
Points for beating a team which is:
+3 groups - 2.5
+2 groups - 2
+1 group - 1.5
Same Group - 1
-1 Group - 0.5
-2 Groups - 0
-3 Groups - 0

Bonus points based on rank - Losses
Points for losing to a team which is:
+3 groups - 0
+2 groups - 0
+1 group - -0.5
Same Group - -1
-1 Group - -1.5
-2 Groups - -2
-3 Groups - -2.5

Bonus points based on rank - Ties
Points for tieing with a team which is:
+3 groups - 1.5
+2 groups - 1
+1 group - 0.5
Same Group - 0
-1 Group - -0.5
-2 Groups - -1
-3 Groups - -1.5

I tend to disagree on the matter that teams lower ranked or so forth beating higher teams should earn more points, for me it should be taken in as neutral you beat a lower ranked team you get your points for it, you beat the world's best you get your points for it
