The wishlist thread

I remember one when I won my first game in C04. I would get bowled out for less than 50 always till this one OD match I played. Simulated the opposition batting and played like a champ to win the match with about 6-7 overs to spare. My cousin came in as I was shouting and jumping in joy. He said, 'You haven't selected any user team and it was a cpu v cpu game!' :(

Used have them all the time on the early year 2000s pro evos on ps2

30 yarder underside of the bar and in,,,and in the last minute after being totally dominated all game and nicking it 1-0, amazing matches where anything could literally happen.

Says a lot about me probably but I have em all the time in Fifa 12, scraping a draw with Shrewsbury in the league cup against Millwall, in a gloomy, rainy November night.....Barcelona who?

Please don't forget to add Classic Matches and they should not all be Ashes Scenarios. BLC 99 had wonderful Classic matches that made the player toil to win and satisfaction was amazing.

Ability to hit boundaries across the ground

in IC10, its very rare(especially for AI) to hit boundaries without going aerial.

Now especially in test cricket, most boundaries are scored by keeping ball along the ground. Would be nice if it was easier to achieve this in AC13 with perfect timing

In fact should be easier to do this than scoring boundaries with 6 hit option (especially on hardest setting of the game)

Skill level differentiation
Would love if developers could implement like EA has with Tiger woods series. I.e. the hardest skill level is aimed/configured totally towards hardcore, whilst remaining skill levels are aimed at everyone else

E.g. at hardest skill setting could have
  • Variable weather
  • Form ratings
  • Injuries in career mode
  • realistic playing conditions - so if dust bowl, will spin, green top suits seamers etc

Things like above could be dumbed down or removed on easier settings so people can just pick up and play without worrying about nuances

I see most people have Career mode in their wishlist including me but I am pessimistic with regards to this being implemented in the game.

Be positive, it's a WISH list remember. Pessimism doesn't do anyone any good. The more people that SUGGEST a Career/Tour mode the more likely it'll be considered. At this point in time, things like Injuries, Weather and Tours seem to be top of the list around here.

Best thing any cricket game can do is look at the past games for inspiration, Brian Lara and Cricket 07 have some good, core mechanics of Tours, Weather and Injuries to be inspired by, while keeping the game accessible to everyone.

They need to make a lot of improvements than their previous game international cricket 2010.

Batting
There should be a better range of shot selection and frankly speaking a more REALISTIC shot selection according to the type of delivery. Going on the front foot to a short/bouncer length delivery is ok as the pitch may not have as much bounce left ... but hooking/pulling a yorker length delivery is just plain ridiculous. This is what the problem was with IC2010.

Bowling
The bowling action can be improved i guess. There should be a feature that players with more height get better bounce than other bowlers rather than having all players the same height and weight.

Fielding
Fielding needs to be improved a lot. Outfielders should try and dive at the boundary rather than seeing the ball go past the ropes. Also when the ball is hit it should not just stop dead an inch before the boundary ropes and wait for the fielder to pick it up and throw whilst the batsman run three. The fielders should be able to chase the ball down and if not the ball should go past the ropes rather than stopping dead still.

Online Gameplay
Considering the amount of times players have quit when they are about to lose, there should be a feature that if a player quits the game then not only they lose sportsmanship rating, but also they have a loss on their stats for quitting the game and the other player gets a win.

Also they should fix that annoying bug where the game automatically disconnects due to hitting consecutive boundaries. If the game disconnects due to a connection problem it should go as a tie or a no result on the player stats.

Other
- there should be a lot more variety of options in editing/creating a player

- there also should be an option of where we can manually enable or disable player injuries. I think players being injured just makes it more interesting. Players availability should be according to their injury. E.g if a player while batting got hit by a bouncer than because of that injury they shouldn't be available for a few weeks, whereas if the player just pulled a hamstring while fielding their availability should be much quicker like 4-5 days or so

- there should be an option of taunting/sledging other players and umpire either giving warnings to players or banning them for a certain number of matches.

- considering the game is fully licensed by CA and ECB why don't they have the english and australian domestic seasons with all the domestic teams like warwickshire, surrey, victoria, south australia etc.

- there should be variable types of weather and also rain interruption in games, especially in test matches

- there should be an option to see replays anytime we want and we can also see replays of previous dismissals rather than just showing replays
automatically when there is a 4, 6 or a wicket. Also we should be able to see the replay from any angle we want.

- there should also be highlights of best batting and bowling at the end of the innings.

- also please please please ... their needs to be man of the match, man of the series awards.

- there should be more stadiums and audiences should look more realistic with boos and cheers.

- there should be third umpires for stumpings aswell.

- there should be more types of pitches rather than having day 1 to day 5 type of pitches e.g wet, damp, hard, normal, green, flat etc.

- there should be a variety and range of tours available for example Caribbean Tour, Sub-Continent Tour, Australia Tour, England Tour, Africa Tour etc.

- also for each international team they should have a couple of domestic team e.g. India A, Sri Lanka XI etc.

and lastly they should seek some inspiration from ea sport cricket titles like ea sports cricket 2004 and cricket 2007

I must say to be fair that having played IC2010 again after a while, there is lot that Trickstar did well and you do have a sense of being immersed in a game of cricket. The action cams are great, the atmosphere is generally pretty decent, graphics are by far the best in a cricket game and if you are willing to play the shorter versions of the game it can be good fun. The big let down, to finish on the obligatory pessimistic note, is the fielding. Sharpen that up and you have a good game.

I've reviewed cricket games going back a while for this site and I gave IC10 the highest rating I've ever given a cricket game. If that was the base and 505/Trickstar were able to fix the problems and add more features I'd be happy. My concern is what happens when you start again.

Surely beginning again doesnt mean they just chuck everything out the window and go "okay, what is cricket? ". I am sure they will take into account the things that have worked in the past and the innovations already tried and tested?

Ic2010 created the best human v Cpu game of cricket yet, whilst BLIC2005 with it's exagerrated swing and ball movement had the best multiplayer versus cricket experience (relatively considering it's 7 years old :p).

There should be a special button for sweep shot because sometimes when spinners ball a fll pitched delivery , batsman often hits shot with the front foot and the ball go stike batsman's pad .:p

Addition of a super-over if a game ties will be something fun?

...Someones been watching the T20 game that just happened! :lol Was VERY exciting. I'll second the request for the "super over" to be included.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet

Atmosphere at specific moments

In IC10 the atmosphere generally is very good - plenty of crowd noise, music at T20's etc

One thing it lacked was building up suspense at crucial momemts

e.g.

Bowler is on a hatrick - no crowd cheering as bowler runs up and no mention by commentator its the hatrick ball

Worst is when getting to the end of the game, in tests or especially one day games. No build up by commentators about how many to win, the crowd don't get more excited when it's close

No animations of captain continually talking to bowler, changing fields regularly in last couple of overs when it's close, you get the idea

When match is over, it's so anti-climatic with same commentary and animations and no real sense of achievement.
