Third Test: Australia v England at Edgbaston

Will the spinner come in anytime soon? Few overs of Haurtiz could lead to a false shot.

This is the last over before Lunch.

Didn't think we would see a cameo appearance from Collingwood but I was hoping I was wrong. Ah well, Bell is our saviour now.

I don't know what to say about Hilfenhaus tbh. I've never rated the bloke since seeing him debut for Australia a few years back, but he just seems like a wicket taker. I'd probably have to see how he goes when the ball isn't moving around too much before making judgement on his test bowling but from what I've seen over the last three weeks looks promising.

What? One more wicket and you're into the tail. And a lead of anything more than 50 in these conditions is a good lead.

Bell and Prior are both capable of scoring big, but neither of them have yet to produce the goods when it really matters. So forgive me for being a little apprehensive.

If i was decide who was in the better position it would be England. Man, stop being so negative.

I have to agree with Matt on this one. Couple of more wickets and we're into the tail If we can skittle them for say less than another 100, then I think we can bat to around lunch tomorrow the pressure will be all on England to survive. Especially if all our bowlers are firing.

The number of fours might suggest he's not bowling his best, but it's been Hilfenhaus' most aggressive match so far. The possessor of a graceful outswinger, he threatens to take a lot of wickets, but can also be guilty of sitting back on a comfortable length. By getting in a bit closer, it has gotten uglier, but he's in a battle he can win.

Promising signs from Johnson as well. It ought to be tough for England so long as the ball continues to swing. Who knows; there could even be a decent spell from Watson in this yet.

Wishful thinking I'd say. If Australia bat till lunch on the 5th day even England won't get bowled out in that amount of time.

This game is as good as drawn

Surely you've watched cricket long enough to realise that you can never rule anything out when England are playing?

I wish England wernt so poor at hosting Test matches...

Can't it stop raining in England at least in the summer time?

I don't really understand Ponting as a captain, or it could just be me. You've got Hilfenhaus bowling one of his best spells this series, and you've got Johnson down the other end just bowling up some half-ok stuff, but he's been like this all series, had a few good overs and turned to absolute crap. Whats up with Hauritz? Is it able to bowl, because I'd certainly give him the ball, I think when he pushes it up, he is certainly more dangerous that Johnson.
