I guess Dravid and Tendulkar sealed New Zealand's chances of picking early wickets.I did get bored of Dravid's innings today, but the partnership he stitched along with Sachin was crucial for the run chase.

Imagine if dravid had batted in ODI mode. :p

And I now know why Dhoni bats slowly. He is memorizing his closing ceremony speech which he finishes in more speed than Adityacricketer writes one post.

there was no need for dravid to be in T20 / ODI mode...so no worries ! ;)

well, dhoni loves averages more than lakshmi rai nowadays i guess ! :p

Not now. You can always count on England to loose 7-0 in ODIs.

That bike sucks. Reaches 0-100 in 19 seconds only.

England will not loose that badly, expecting England to win atleast 2 games.

Can anyone provide the link for ODI Rating Predictor?

You love to bash Dhoni even if he scores a fantastic hundred and wins the game for the team, right?

The pitch as a whole was tough to score. You got to take risks if you want an ODI type strike rate. Dhoni didnt take it because he wanted to win the game. Raina did take some risks which paid off (those two sixes). Maybe had NZ scored 250 odd today, Dhoni might have been more aggressive than today. He plays according to the match situation.

I guess we should play Kohli instead of Dravid who was looking horrible with the bat.

Tendulkar and Raina played well. Raina still needs to work out the short ball though.

No we need someone to bore the Lankans to submission.

good point ! :D

NZ lost because they threw away starts and couldn't kick on.

any batsman over the 2 series so far that has faced more than 50 balls has made a decent score

Samaraweera - 104 from 124
Mathews - 51 from 60
Tendulkar - 46 from 55
Raina - 45* from 54
Eliot - 41 from 76
Dhoni - 35 from 65

Yeah the last two are very slow, though Dhoni's innings was cut short and there was no need to score faster. but the rest are all at strike rates of more than 80 and fine one day contributions. Only Eliot faced more than 50 balls from NZs squad over two games, that's rubbish and it's a question of new zealands batsmen needing to work on pacing an innings on tricky pitches against bowling that isn't going to present you with 4 balls once an over.

A nice flat bouncy pitch may make NZ feel good about their batting potential but the fact is they've failed to apply themselves in this series.
