Thanks sharathu .. also may be i'll fix the advance strokes too at a later time tonite...By the way the legside shot can only be timed if timed perfectly or else it looks like a chinese cut and runs to the fine leg..the edited stroke file must be put into the root directory..if u find any bugs report please..

Well i am adding version 2 of the leg side 6 hit shot ...try out both and see which version u want and let me know..its on the 4th page post

I downloaded this patch after having some stability issues with Tutsi's 4.0 patch ( who made several great patches ) and I must say I'm very impressed.
This patch achieves a fine balance between the other AI patches I tried and mostly gets it right. ( using the realtime patch )
Good work.

Here is my feedback.
+ good batting range of strokes.
+ nice outfield pace
+ surprising fielding positions which I must say I liked. A change from the same drab boring field positions of before
+ I could finally play the cut shot effectively rather than watching the ball go by everytime
+ scoring sixes/fours is rewarding as it doesn't feel like it came easy. They seem to go to all places

However -
- due to faster outfield, not easy to steal quick singles. I got run out each time
- don't know if this is a feature -> a bowler picks a line ( just outside off stump of
medium length and sticks to it the entire over if I cannot score there. If I do, then
he changes it to always on leg )
- Edges : didn't get any. Got more realistic edges with Tutsi's patch.
- The lofted cover drive has more power than realistic. One of the lofted cover drive shots cleared the stadium. Previously I could get caught easily at mid off or cover. Now it always clears them
- The power sweep shot ( shift+S+Up+Right ) has lesser power than normal. I could execute this before well, but now I mostly get caught

Overall, it seems like a really good patch. Gameplay finally feels very realistic and I'm quite happy with the stability. Only Tutsi's patch felt as good.

Yeah, The shot airial over square leg area is a little powerful and same with the cover drive in the air, advance usually.

Something has really bugged me, and its not this patches fault I don't think. Whatever patch I tend to play on, Brad Hogg always bowls extremly short. Hes far too easy to score from. I got like 70 runs from 4 overs against him.

Hey thanx fanirama...thanx bro...by the way...how come u dont get edges..well try a test match and see..by the way i'll be doing v4 wait for that ....by the way..its similar...an ideal line is just outside the offstump and on good length ..most bowlers stick to that with a litte variation in seam and swing...and if still they get wacked ..then the shift it to middle and leg...........

Note people who feel the pc is not variating the line ...please move about in the crease until the delivery is bowled..

Note...

I mean when u press S for the first time when blue bowlers ring appear ..move to a different position each time...but after the blue ring dissapear and the before the red ring appears ...take gaurd at the stump u normally play...it has a marked effect on the line and length of the bowl bowled....

And to irottev...well try using Tutsi ai patch it tends to balance these kinda issuse....if u dont want to then its fine....see the shots were made easy coz they were easy in Brian Lara ...i told u people that it was an attempt to ge a fluid gameplay like that of the Brian Lara 99 cricket game...

Well i'll be releasing v4 ...in that, in the proffessional and worldclass mode...it will be too hard to pick the bowlers for 6 and 4 using these shots...almost all the strokes will be edited...dont worry..

Well thanx to everyone who liked the patch....By the way i am waiting for Mike (kymsheba) to give a review after he has done a test match ....that guy can seriiously give good reviews... ;)

Perfect, can't wait :)

your patch is still one of the best around. I would use Tutsis patch, but I am far too lazy to keep switching between innings.

ur new stroke file is kool.reall gr8 added reps for u

Thanx anuj......later today i 'll be releasing the fullfledged stroke file that would be used along with my v4..with all the stroke adjusted for power and difficulty...the final stroke file...i'll be sending it to few of the guys on this thread...the chance to test it before releasing...irottev and kymsheba are certainly among the few ..any more people willing can ask me..

i'll b happy to do it .btw when is the V4 coming

Was just experimenting with your Real time patch in a Test Match(Hard Mode)....the Straight drive shot ( s+down arrow without Power boost) used to go over Mid-On/Off or over the bowlers head..this is happening to a LHB but not to a RHB..Pls check into this..un-neccessarily I dont want to be caught at Mid-On or Mid-Off :D

Hi Vinuatlast,

well here it is the review of my first test match is as follows....

Australia (me) vs South Africa (cpu)

Conditions were as follows...
Dusty track, Hot, Sunny, on Hard level with realistic patch.

well i lost the toss and was put into bat which was fine for me.

1. well i started off in a flurry of on drives and pull shots which were a delight to play i was soon racking up 4's almost at ease before i got a little carried away and went to drive pollock back over his head and edged it but it flew just wide of the diving slips fielder much to my relief . After attempting to drive pollock again a couple of overs later i did the same thing again only for the ball to go between the slips and the diving wicketkeeper just managing to slip through before racing to the boundary.

* the driving was a real pleasure to play nearly all were hit in a variety of directions, giving a real good feeling to the drives.

2. Back foot Cut shots and Hooks were nicely played it was a great feeling and sight to see the different trajectories of the ball as it flew off the bat, not every ball went sky rocketing into the air or flat as a tack there was great variation in the shots.

* some people have complained about the leg side 6 hit shots as too easy well i found them to be nicely balanced between easy to hit on bad balls bowled to me as they should be too getting caught twice on the boundary down at fine leg from playing the wrong shot for the ball bowled at me. I also had 1 batter caught by the wicketkeeper as i got a thin edge by a batter who was not settled this was great as many people have stated edges are always hard to get right in a patch. Vinuatlast has got the edges perfect in this patch a real treasure of a patch in this regard alone.

3. Back foot drives were startling realistic i actually thought i was watching australia bat on tv it was that good. I was astounded to be actually finding myself wanting to play these shots more and more as the test went on, i normally only play on the front foot for driving but this patch has turned my thinking around. Well done vinuatlast.

4. Slog sweep shot i have NEVER EVER seen more realistic in any patch put out there so far, i swear i seen Steve Waugh playing on my computer screen it captured the feel of his batting exactly the fluidity of the shot was fantastic.

* couldnt resisit playing this shot to the spinner and lost another 2 wickets trying to do this too often. I was hooked on this shot and look forward to using it in the 1 dayers. A great shot that is worthwhile to play now.

5. Hip Glance & Leg Glance was very nicely done the ball just seemed to glide off the bat the motion was captured that well by vinuatlast.

6. Advance down the wicket shots were challenging to play with just the right amount of reward for a perfectly played shot but u got punished if you tried to do it to the wrong delivery.

* a great balance was achieved here.

7. Front foot cut shots .... i was actually able to hit them now consistently and the great thing was not every shot went to the boundary but you were rewarded for your efforts if you timed it perfectly.

8. There was a real ease to playing all the shots in the book but you didnt get overly rewarded with tons of 4's or 6's but it had a nice blend of 1's, 2's, the odd 3 and boundaries.

* by the way this is only the 2nd time i have ever managed to get 3's on a consitent basis congrats to TUTSI & VINUATLAST in this department well done guys. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THIS PART YOU HAVE BOTH GOT IT PERFECT.

9. Outfield pacing is a dream once again you have hit the nail on the head and please refrain from tweaking this in case you loose the feel of the outfield you have got it right 100%

well you will probably want to know the results of the match so here it is in abbreviated form.

Australia 1st Innings
199 all out - 4:35pm day 1
(i messed up a bit by trying to do all the shots so i could provide a report on all shots that the player is capable of, but hey it was fun and that is what counts in a game right? :))

South Africa (autobowled) 1st Innings
348 all out - 5:56pm day 2
(Australia <me> trailing by 149 runs - the autobowled innings sets a good challenging score now instead of little puny scores well done Vinuatlast at last the CPU can post challenging scores. I had my work cut out for me in the 2nd Innings)

Australia 2nd Innings (trailing by 149 runs)
541 all out - 3:04pm day 4
(a good controlled fight back by myself as this time i did not try and play every shot straight away all the time but played each ball on its merits ie: correct shot for the ball bowled)

South Africa 2nd Innings (trailing by 393 runs needed to win)
333 all out - 5:04pm day 5
(a great victory by 59 runs with just under a hours play left)

WOOT what a game i love this patch ... great to bat now Vinuatlast has made this game enjoyable to play now EA you need to sign him up now to do your stroke play and ai patching this guy knows his business that is for sure.

Vinuatlast sorry i still not able to find much that needs changing in this patch as that was my most enjoyable 1 day game and test match i have ever played on this game using this patch. Keep up the great work and cant wait for your version 4 it can only get better just imagine what it is going to be like it will be that good you could almost smell the willow of the bat and leather of the ball.

hope this is ok for a review for you Vinuatlast and sorry to everyone else that has to sit through and read it i know it is very long but i was hoping to do it justice and put every shot through its paces so as to provide a good feedback for Vinuatlast.

Well Thanx Mike (kymsheba ) i expected a good review and u didnt disappoint....But i am a bit dissapointed though that u didnt find any thing wrong...well enjoy playing with this now..Hope u checked out the new..strokefile with edited sweeps and leg side 6 hit shot......

Thanx such review would certainly be held in good regard thanx a lot and wait for my next patch....

hey, vinuatlast, you're right. Getting edges in test matches.
Overall, the patch turns the game into a very realistic game. Strokes feel very fluid and delightful. Playing the game just gives it a very natural easy feel to it. I really love playing the cover drive ( non power ) and its very well executed.

I don't think any patch felt this fluid. I think this is the best patch ( with the editedstrokefile ) and I'm going to stick with this. I really like the effort you put into this.
Very good job. You should be rewarded for the time and effort you put into this. ( other patchers too )
