Sai one piece of advice from ur well wisher mate, dont mistake me for telling this mate, i wish ur screen shots should be improved mate, at the moment they look pretty dull. Sorry if i had hurted u mate. just my opinion buddy

Well Sri Lanka have got the runs, but have lost three crucial wickets. I think since SL have such a deep batting lineup, they can afford losing wickets, as long as they score runs at a good run rate.

Oh no problem at all. You can tell me.

I will work on improving them as I go on!!

yeh sai keep going with it. the only reason it may not have had a huge amount is maybe because it doesnt have india v pakistan. i know as soon as the majority of people here see india v pakistan they are there. this will be big soon enough. i agree with the champ. but maybe a change of gameplay patch would be good. the tougher the better i think. good luck. im going for india this match 277 would be to hard to beat

Thanks man.

I agree. If its India vs Pakistan, it invokes lot of interest and excitement!

Sri Lanka motor along to 148/4 after 25 overs

Sri Lanka 148/4 after 25 overs

Sri Lanka look the favorites to win this match scoring at almost 6 runs per over. They require 129 runs from 25 overs at 5.2 per over. Mahela Jayawardena is not out on 31* and Upul Chandana is accompanying him there on 26*. Both have started playing sensibly picking singles and hitting the odd ball for a boundary. Harbhajan is getting good turn off the wicket but the Sri Lankans are playing it well. India needs to tighten more if they got to put pressure on the Lankans

102 runs to win off 108 balls

The match enters the interesting phase of play as Sri Lanka need 102 runs to win from 108 balls. India tightening it up more with defensive field placements and stump to stump bowling line making run scoring very difficult for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka have been scoring at 3 runs per over for the last 5 overs. They now need to score at 5.67 runs per over to win this match but still they know its possible!

89 runs to win off 84 balls

India bowling brilliantly right now to put Sri Lanka on the backfoot. Sachin Tendulkar has turned in a brilliant spell of spin bowling with figures of 10-1-27-2. He has completely kept the batsmen in splits. Now the required run rate has gone above 6 runs per over and Sri Lanka will certainly finding it a pressure to keep moving the scoreboard. Added to that, there are not able to penetrate into the Indian fielders.

India on top - 74 off 60 balls

74 to win off 60 balls!

India have suddenly moved to the top in this match with very tight bowling. Sri Lanka are now 5 wickets down and need 74 runs to win this match off 10 overs. Chandana was the last man out when he charged Bhajji and was stumped by Dhoni for 45. Jayawardena is not out on 60* but he will certainly find the going tough with less experienced batsmen to come in.

Another close finish is on the cards....very exciting stuff!!

Good tight bowling by Bhajji.

Also I really like the TV graphics.

India on verge of another win!

India on verge of another win!

India are verge of another win as Sri Lanka need 56 runs off 30 balls with 4 wickets in hand. Dilshan and Vaas are playing out there but it has become an enormous task for them. Still India wont be contended that they would win because this already happened in their match against Pakistan where Pakistan need 56 off 4 overs and they came 1 run close to victory. Jayawardena was clean bowled by Harbhajan with a classical off spinner's delivery that turned into him.

43 to win off 24 balls!

Great over for Sri Lanka as Cricket2004 played a big part for them in lowering the required total. Vaas hooked a Pathan bouncer and it was going for four but it stopped just before the boundary and no fielder went near it (probably thinking that it was a bomb in the guise of a ball!) and Vaas happily picked up 8 runs off the ball. And he then edged the next ball through the slips for a welcome boundary. 43 needed off 24 balls and the match still open!

looks like india have won this match. something they could not do in my story against the south africnas. well played good luck for rest of series

34 runs off 18 balls

34 runs to win off 18 balls

A 9 run over for Sri Lanka as they inch closer and closer to the required target. Chaminda Vaas has been batting very aggressively yet dangerously and scoring these runs for SL. Dilshan opened up this over to hit a gorgeous straight drive for four off Khan. 34 off 18 balls. Will Sri Lanka do it?

Dont say it confirmed as yet. 34 off 18 balls!! It still looks open to me!!

Tutsi's patch has the CPU smashing the human bowlers the last 3 overs or so!

25 runs off 12 balls?

This is again getting down to the wire! Sri Lanka need 25 runs off 12 balls to win this match! Ganguly turned the ball to Sehwag who has the knack of picking up wickets in the ending stages of the match. But Sehwag went for 9 runs off the last over as Vaas is really in a aggressive mood. Match stillopen as Sri Lanka need 25 more off 2 overs.

19 runs off 11 balls!

WHAT A SIX?? RIGHT ONTO THE BACKFOOT AND JUST HOOKED OVER DEEP MIDWICKET FOR A SIX!! THE BEST SHOT OF THE MATCH BY VAAS.

19 runs to win off 11 balls!!

15 runs to win off 6 balls!

Sri Lanka need 15 off the last over. Vaas batting on 42* off 35 balls. 10 runs came off the previous over from Khan due to that superb six over midwicket! 15 runs off 6? This is ultimate!!!

9 to win off 3 balls

Sehwag comes to the party picking up 2 wickets off 2 deliveries. First Vaas was stumped for 47 and then Fernando holes out to mid off. Sehwag now on a hat trick and Sri Lanka need 9 off 3 balls? Will Sehwag get his hat trick? Will Sri Lanka win this one? Zoysa in the hot seat!

ANOTHER THRILLING MATCH AND THIS TIME, INDIA EMERGE VICTORIOUS BY 4 RUNS!! SEHWAG AGAIN REPOSES THE FAITH ON HIM BY HIS CAPTAIN SAURAV GANGULY AND WINS THE MATCH IN THE LAST OVER FOR INDIA!!!

GREAT FIGHT BY SRI LANKA AND AT ONE STAGE, THEY LOOKED LIKE EASILY WINNING THIS MATCH! BUT AGAIN, CREDIT TO INDIA FOR COMING BACK INTO THIS MATCH AND THEN PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE LANKANS TO WIN HERE AT THE EDEN GARDENS!!

MATCH REPORT, PRESENTATION CEREMONY TO FOLLOW!!

MATCH REPORT & PRESENTATION

India have won a great match against Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the Coca Cola series by 4 runs at the Eden gardens, Kolkatta. In a high scoring thriller, India edged out Sri Lanka just at the end through some brilliant bowling by Sachin Tendulkar and the spinners who bottled up the run rate of the Sri Lankans. Earlier, India were taken to their total of 277 by Saurav ganguly who scored a fine 111.

totalcol4dw.jpg

For the Sri Lankans, Jayawardena top scored with 60+ and Chandana scored 45 whearas Vaas scored a quickfiree 47 in the end which took Sri Lanka really close to the total. Now, we go to the presentation ceremony with Manjrekar taking over.

Manjrekar: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the presentation ceremony of this awesome match between India and Sri Lanka. India have emerged victorious in the end of this thriller of a match! Let me call upon Mr. Marvan Atapattu, the captain of the losing team first. So Marvan, must be upset over this defeat!!!

Atapattu: Not upset. Yes, we are disappointed not to win here. We were in a good position to win at the end of 15 overs but credit to India for tightening things up and they put pressure on us to score fast.

Manjrekar: How did the pitch behave?
Atapattu: It was a good batting pitch. It had some turn later during the match. We were unlucky in the end to miss out on 4 runs.

Manjrekar: Thanks Marvan. Now for the Man of the Match award. An easy choice in the end. It goes to SAURAV GANGULY for his fine 111 especially since he was out of form till this innings.

(Saurav collects his award from the dias!)

Manjrekar: Congragulations Saurav. How does this innings mean to you?
Ganguly: Absolutely fantastic. I needed such a big innings and I was confident that it was around the corner. The wicket was an absolute beauty today and it was pretty easy to score runs off it.

Manjrekar: These last few seasons have been hunky dory for you? How did you deal with it in that period of time?
Ganguly: It has been a hot and cold period till this innings. I always try to be confident. I try to get a lot of support from the senior cricketers. Gavaskar and Greg Chappell have been of a great help to me in my batting. Again, I am proud to play for my team which has been fantastic!

Manjrekar: Well done and best of the luck for the next game Saurav. Thats all we have from the Eden Gardens, Kolkatta. See you in the next game at the Chepauk stadium, Chennai. Till then, its bye bye from the studios.
