I still feel that damien martyn deserves a chance. He just had a bad series during the ashes. Otherwise he was the most consistent aussie batsman for about a year.

We don't need a real young guy, someone about 25-26 at the most, someone who can be there 3-4 years after when a few of the older players retire.

Jaques fits that bill. One thing for certain Jaques is the next option when an opening spot opens up.

they used martyn as an escapegoat, i just feel they didnt care about him as much, just seems to me he dosnt have a big media profile of the likes of the rest of the squad so he was easier to get rid of.
