West Indies in England

Really? I'd say Bell out as he has problems with his back, and Flintoff in.

I'd also keep in Sidebottom - he did well, what more could he do?

Also, OT I know, but where is the 2nd England v India Test going to be played? On my Wisden Cricketer wall chart, it says Old Trafford, but I can't believe that they'd have 2 tests in a summer without Trent Bridge or Edgbaston having one...

Ah yes I forgot about the Bell injury. But if fitness doesn't play a factor i'd still depart with Collingwood for a bouncy track like Old Trafford. Bell is more adapted to playing the rising ball.

And there is definitely not two Tests at Old Trafford this year to my knowledge.

The Wisden Cricketer magazine apologised for this mistake with their wallchart on page 15 on it's June 2007 issue.

How can that be... Edgbaston is England's most popular ground...:crying I really was expecting it the other way round.

(Not referring to you, Drew, but to the ECB):noway

Yeah I know it's totally ridiculous. Why can off the location where England play best at and receive the best support?

Plus, it doesn't always lash it down in the Midlands either...

They dropped it for one at Durham, which is stupid really. Durham gives similar conditions to Headingley, and it also means that most of the tests will be right up north.

wots wrong with test up north?

South had it their own way for far to long

and Durham is NOTHING like headingly..

Durham have some of the best facilities on the country and fully deserve teir test match

I'm all for northern Test matchs; More the merrier. But you can't hide the fact that it pisses it down a lot more up North than down South.

Un ideal for most fans

I meant by similar weather, which is possible but i'm not 100% sure. They deserve a test match, but not at the expense of Edgbaston.

Maybe we should give Lord's one, we haven't won there for two years and that was against an appaling Bangla team.

Just checked - you're right! Quite small though:p

I knew it was a mistake anyway because I am going to watch the third day of the second test against India and I knew I wouldn't be going to Nottingham for it if it was in Manchester!

Or at least make it the 2nd test when in a four or five test series - doesn't feel right being the 1st test IMO...

But Collingwood has actually got a score this series - unlike Bell who seems to be left in after numerous dodgy matches.

If Shah was given as many chances as Bell, then he'd still be playing until the end of next year and may deserve it...
