West Indies in England

No need for Nixon now, the WC was his last game for mind. Now is the time to look for a replacement that will go to the next WC.
Cook should definitely get a shot don't know why he was left out of the WC squad in the first place.

Thing is Syl people look at Cook and think "He's not going to score quickly enough in ODIs" missing the fact he's probably our most talented young batsman. He'd be in my team, plus he did okay in his two ODIs before scoring at around 90 runs per hundred balls iirc.

Well 86.

His domestic one day average is 30 and he has never scored a century. There is no conceivable way he should play. Play the players who are good at domestic one day cricket otherwise what's the point? It would just be Vaughan Mk.II .

Stop dismissing Cook as an ODI player. He's played two games and performed well in both; That warrants another try imo.

Cook played 26 OD games.
Thats about 1 and a half seasons worth of One Day game.
You cannot say an Average of 30 for a kid of 18 and 19 playing in his first two seasons is bad. IF you expect more than that, then yuo're being idiotic.

I think sometimes we look at statistics too much. Cook is one of the most talented up and coming batsman in world cricket let alone English cricket.

Plus Nixon has destroyed his career by asking him if he breathes when he hits it :p

Vaughn is decent in tests, i think.
If tresco is ready to tour then we have a nice team on our hands.

Tresco
Strauss
Cook
Vaughn
KP
Flintoff
Colly/Bell
Keeper
Anderson
Saj/Plunket
Hoggard/Harmison

If Bell plays I think he might be ahead of KP. Same with Colly, Actually.
And i'd rather have the Keeper higher then Flintoff too..
Snap forgot MOnty. You can squeeze him in somewhere..

Squad: Ramnaresh Sarwan (Captain), Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards, Daren Ganga, Christopher Gayle, Sylvester Joseph, Runako Morton, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Devon Smith, Darren Sammy, Jerome Taylor.

No specialist spinner..

I feel Vaughan is a weak link he hasnt been in true form since his last ashes series in australia

I see your ignoring the fact that he cained the West Indies last time around then.

Last time we were confident, now we've just been beaten 5-0 on tour, big big loss, won the ODI comp, Big high, then did crap in the WC.

Basically, without Lara the Windies are regaining some level of composure so its going to be difficult for them to do it whilst on tour, if England can give them another "caining," like last time i think England will be somewhere near the road to success, but we need a good English summer!

If the Windies avoid defeat in any Test matches then that is a massive disapointment to the England team. If we seriously want to threaten Australia's number 1 spot then we have to dispose of cannon fodder like this with ease. I hate to sound arrogant, but the West Indies shouldn't be able to touch England if they play like we all know they can.
