West Indies tour of New Zealand

great game and a good win for WI. now they put some pressure on NZ.

good to see Sarwan find his form and help the team to the win. He started of slow but got going as the innings went on. Ramdin actually made some runs and helped the team which is good to see because he was in a really bad slump.

looking forward to the next ODI. hope the weather is good and hope to see Chanders back in the team.

A disappointing loss for us, though the Windies didn't look all that good out there either.

My Team

Ryder
McCullum
How
Flynn
Taylor
Broom
Elliott
Vettori
Mills
Southee
Gillespie

Oram has another injury problem and should probably be kept out for the rest of this series, Broom should take his spot, Ryder can pick some of his overs up if need be. Flynn needs to be in at no.3 or 4, so to gives him enough time to build his innings, If he doesn't get a 50 by the end of this series he should be dropped from the ODI side, and his spot should be given to either Neil Broom, Peter Fulton or quite possibly Kane Williamson.

Patel shouldn't be dropped based on a 28 over match and because he had to bowl at the death which shouldn't be his role. Give him a proper go.

I think we may have found out why Oram didn't bowl it anyway. Vettori probably had to bowl Patel because Oram was feeling sore. Even Ryder was a better option though.

Flynn's not impressed me in the one day format. Taylor at 5 is too low for our best ODI batsman. Flynn's shown no promise yet at all in ODIs so keep him low until he does.

2 key players injured. Just what we needed.

Geez Oram cant catch a break atm.

Whats up with him now?

What do you think, will NZ win tomorrow's match and level the series? They need to do it...

Last time when WI won the 1st T20,NZ came back strongly they had very good opening partnership, and they also bowled well,on the other hand,WI have won 1st match, they are more confidant..pressure certainly on NZ..

We should win, that's for sure. Weather should be good tomorrow so that's one thing in our favor.

Oram is fit to play and was bowling in the nets today so should be fine for a full role. Hopefully won't need to bowl 10 though.

Here's a good article about the outfield: New drains stop AMI Stadium washout - New Zealand's source for sport, rugby, cricket & league news on Stuff.co.nz

I was wondering why there was so little covers on the pitch. Amazing stuff. Must be right up there as best drainage in the world. It's just a shame we can;t host tests on it.

The Stanford Cricket Ground in Coolidge, Antigua has the same concept, what I believe they did there was run a network of pipes, from the pitch area spread out like a spider's web and laid gravel on it and then laid the field, and no matter how much rain comes down in about half an hour, play can resume.

WI have lost 2 wickets in 4th over of match, but good news is that Gayle is out there, and he is looking +ve...Mills is bowling a tidy line..

Gayle & Chanderpaul are out there on the pitch, these 2 can handle the situation well, these are most experienced bastman of WI...they know it how to tackle this kind of situation...

Galye gone,WI in trouble,35/3 in 10 overs,NZ on top,Mills has bowled very well,7overs:2 maidens:11runs & 2 wickets..
