Zimbabwe's tour of Bangladesh - October/December 2014

There is a rumour going around that Nyumbu is injured, if true then that's a massive blow as the other 3 spinners are all inexperienced.

Don't worry BAN will not take any big lead (if they can take lead ofcourse). They have the big tendency of throwing wickets away after getting start and even after getting set.

The time has come, with the warm up match done and dusted, I'm sticking to my original prefered XI
.
Vusi
Raza
Hamilton
Taylor
Ervine
Chigumbura/Waller
Mutumbami
Nyumbu
Chatara
Panyangara
M'shangwe
.
**But if they decide to play Chari as well I think he should bat in the middle order, he played well during the "A" tour and he was playing in the middle order. So that will then mean my XI will be:
.
Raza
Hamilton
Ervine
Taylor
Chari
Chigumbura/Waller
Mutumbami
Nyumbu
Chatara
Panyangara
M'shangwe

Bangladesh well on top after the first day of play. Shakib was a constant threat. The leg spinner bowled some good stuff but he also bowled some absolute garbage too.

As for Zimbabwe's batting, too many getting starts but not pushing on. Need to restrict Bangladesh to around 300 and hope to bat big in the 2nd innings.

@swirler Apparently Chatara was bowling in the high 80's! (mph)

I thought Shakib was banned by the BCB?

hmmm, quick google search said it was up after 3 months, guess he appealed and got it reduced

Great news! Vitori isn't able to hit those speeds, and Jarvis lost his speed after his stress fracture. My only worry is that if he is trying to bowl too quick, he may lose his line and length, which he has been very good at. :)

If we can get Mominul Haque, Rahim and Al Hasan cheaply tomorrow, we might be in with a chance to limit the damage. :spy

Spin! Spin! Spin!
Thatz the only thing which is against the Zimbawians!

Test match is evenly poised. I feel that ZIM need to post minimum of 300+ in their 2nd innings. Wont be easy for Bangladesh batting last on this pitch.

And well done to 'Chocky' on his 5fer :D

At last a win against a test playing nation this year. My heart had stopped breathing for many times during Bangladesh 2nd innings. What a match!

Zimbabwe threw the match away in their 2nd innings. I want to see a huge improvement from the batters in the 2nd match, Vusi is likely to be dropped (he's had so many chances now) The bowling is fine although I would swap Kamungozi for either Waller or Mushangwe.

What a game! Haven't watched any cricket since the World T20 but this series brought me back. Shahadat looked more consistent, but still not consistent enough, Taijul was brilliant, Rahim was amazing, but the rest need to improve heaps if we want to win the series. Hom should be kicked out, and possibly Al-amin as well, for Nasir and Naeem to bolster our batting.

Shuvagata Hom has played two Tests in the space of a month or so, one as a specialist bowler and one as a specialist batsman. If that doesn't point out at least part of the problem, nothing will.
