Andrei Arshavin has excelled this year and he is being linked with moves to the Premier League. He won the Russian Premier League and the UEFA Cup with Zenit St Petersburg last season - he scored 21 goals in 55 matches. Is this the goal return the Premier League is looking for?
He has been Russia's best striker at Euro 2008, they looked a different team when he was playing. Perhaps he could be the playmaker for one of the sides outside the "big 4"?
Barcelona and Liverpool have declared their interest in him. Out of the two, I think he would prefer Barcelona since they are such a high profile team with great players in a less intense league.
Do you think he would fit in the Premier League? Who with? Why?

Yes. Moysey's fellas are over in Austria having a word with Andrei's fellas as we speak.

i've just seen his wikipedia profile and 47 goals in 217 appearances isn't that good to be honest.

Depends how many players decided to take it up. I guess if they started doing it, it would be a national craze before too long.

What the hell Phil?

edit- just got there :p Personally I prefer the whole Zhirkov jerk off joke :D

personally id rather have Pavluchenko as i have been massivly impressed with him so far, and would love him at City, he is built for the style of football in the premiership,

What is it with CIty thinking they are good enough to sign good players lately?

His performance tonight has probably boosted his valuation up by another 10 mil. No chance of anyone outside the top 4 getting him now and if he somehow decides to join City then I lol at his ambition.

we have a rich owner now, how do you think chelski got good players! except chelskis money is dodgy! not like ours

Oh don't worry, I have more respect for City than Chelsea. Don't get me started on them little smirnoffs.

His performance tonight was brilliant but I think that Holland's defensive frailties and strategic miscalculations may have augmented the view an external spectator might have construed of his footballing abilities. Therefore, I have concluded that if he were to ply his trade in the English league against a perhaps more skillfully accomplished full back who would, in turn, be complimented by a fortified back line capable of successfully negating his repetoire of tricks and dribbling mannerisms, he would be rendered less effective.

Bacary Sagna would 'ave him up.

totally agree! Payluchenko has been more impressive than Arshavin throughout the tournament. And he's only 20 i think. He's a hard working guy.

Spelt repertoire wrong. :p

I think Arshavin and Pavluchenko could both make the grade in the Premiership, especially for a top 6 team.

Well seeing as how Arshavin's only played two games that's a bit of an unfair analysis.

Arshavin > Pavyluchenko. Pavyluchenko's a decent player, up until he gets in front of goal, then he messes up far too often. I'd love Arshavin at Everton, we're interested in Joaquin aswell, so we could have an immense midfield next season, Arteta, Cahill, Arshavin, Pienaar and Joaquin. Imagine having Barry in there aswell, that'd be the sex of a midfield.
