As far as i know there is only one version. Are you running the game with the disk in the dvd rom? Mine had the same problem as i used a "no cd patch" - too lazy to insert the disk every time - When i tracked down the legal original disk it worked like a charm!!

Installed BLIC 2007 on xp. Played it for 2 days. Installed vbrun files and editor from this site. After loading the game and choosing the relevant options (Menu etc. works great!) the game loads about half way then WITHOUT giving any reason returns to desktop!!! It is driving me insane...
