All about Googly, Doosra and Teesra
You all are just considering averages only but they are lots of thing which are far most important then mere averages like Abdul Qadir was one who invented Guggly and at his time no body can even pick him at all.He was the biggest turner of all with good and neat pace and even Murali and Warne have got lots of tips from Qadir.
Saqlain Mushtaq was one who got fastest 50,100,150,200 wickets of all time,a legendery bowler, inventor of Dusra and the best off spinner of all time.
I appreciate your inputs on Qadir and Saqlain which are true except for the fact that Abdu Qadir is not the inventor of Googly.
The inventor of googly is Bernard Bosanquet who played only for 2 years (1903 - 1905).
Bernard Bosanquet
Bernard Bosanquet Test Matches :7 (Wickets : 25, Ave : 24.16 SR 38.8, 5W: 2, 10W
Off course he cannot be considered amongst the 10 best spinners of all time(LOL!).
You can verify by this by either typing googly in Google which will link you to google defined in Wikipedia.
Or
Typing Bernard Bosanquet in Search cricinfo box at the right hand side of cricinfo home page which will load player profile of Bernard Bosanquet and confirm the fact that he is the
legitimate inventor of googly.
However you are
absolutely right in your claim that Saqlain is the legitmate inventor of Doosra .Not only that I would also like to add one more piece of information that I was not aware of before and that is : Saqlain is the legitimate inventor of
Teesra as well .
BTW mate you might want to do a spell-check before you post.
The word is
Googly and not
Guggly as you have written.
Similarly the word is
Doosra and not
dusra as you have written.
Hints for Spell-check.
All you have to do is type the word in google. It will come out with the right spelling.
Or type mushtaq last name in cricinfo search. It will come up with bowlers with last name mushtaq.
Choose Saqlain in the player profile. You will get the exact spelling of the word you have doubt or not sure.
Normal spell-check in Word may not
identify this.
Having said that all your inputs are appreciated.
Hope this helps.
