You'd have to think about taking the batting powerplay now. Both batsmen very comfortable, why not bring the field in for 5 overs. We don't need to slog, as both will find the gap with ease.

I just noticed that Bresnan's batting average is a whole eight runs higher then Wright's and yet people don't like to say Bresnan's a all-rounder.

All hale the great man I just woke up and seen that England made 257, was Bresnan's innings any good? Did he actually look like a batsmen.

Useful innings by Watson so far, if a bit slow. Can't ask much more of an allrounder than scoring more than he concedes and taking a few wickets.

I am not watching the match, but it seems that Ponting his regained his old form. It's 38-1 in 7 overs and the way he is batting it could be quickly 100-1.

It actually really happened. They needed only 20.3 overs for that. Australia is really hammering England.

Watson is really confident about himself and just hit a six.

Yea him and Wright both looked good, put the bad balls away and even some good balls. Neither looked troubled by our bowlers.

I don't think so; that six was dropped over the ropes by Luke Wright.

Nah my bad forgot to add he was dropped due to the man not staying on the rope so he tipped it over for 6.

Watson brings up his 50, much better knock by him, still was expecting him to be more attacking but good to see him get a 50, now for the 100.

Wright was very compact and pretty much the only ball that got him was the one that got him. Bresnan was more aggressive, but played a stack of false shots, several inside edges early on and then later there were those edges through the vacant slips region.

I wouldn't be surprised if Collingwood and Swann are bowled straight through. Maybe Australia should take the powerplay, the appropriate bowlers haven't been warming up.

EDIT It appears they were, cricinfo doesn't mention these things.

We won't be using that powerplay until the 45th over, Ponting doesn't seem to like using it especially for a chase.
