IPL 5th Match: Bangalore Royal Challengers v Chennai Super Kings

Good total but could have been better . After the start they had they should have promoted morkel and flintoff ahead of raina.

Dhoni being conservative and trying to prevent the collapse, imo.

Good to see both Pietersen and Flintoff doing well. I'm looking forward to the prospect of Flintoff bowling at Pietersen should be good.

Hayden is the 'King of the World' :p

What an innings by Hayden. Good to see such a high scoreing game. But still, if Uthappa and KP get going we might see Bangalore Royal Challangers grab a win again.

Can see a Bangalore collapse coming. Kallis will bat slowly, leading to Taylor and Pietersen needing to slog to get back up with the run rate, they'll perish to Murali and Flintoff, then it'll be plain sailing for CSK. Either that or KP's going to smack a match winning not out half century.

great batting by Hayden:hpraise
still a great chance of win this game for RCB,they have a great batting lineup

Hmm, Praveen Kumar opening the batting. Interesting one. Can't see it coming off.

King Pietersen added 0 Minutes and 32 Seconds later...

Lol, told ya. Kumar bowled 3rd ball. Bangalore in trouble early. Kallis should have opened.

KP is nuts to open with Kumar. Glad the experiment lasted only 3 balls.

It could have come off. If he'd have smacked a few sixes we'd have been proclaiming it as a master stroke. Kallis has proven already why he should have opened though, a couple of class strokes already. KP better come in next!

No, Kumar is a proven dud at International level as batsman, and has been found wanting in general with the bat ever since his international debut. Common sense suggested it gave out signals of desperate efforts on part of KP.

Desperate efforts? =/ He just wanted a few sixes smacked early on to get some early momentum, hardly desperation. Kallis should have opened though, and he's proven that by batting superbly in his innings thus far. With KP and Taylor still to come Bangalore have a chance here. The bowling will surely improve though, with Murali and Flintoff to come.

Precisely, the point of sending up a No.9 batsman to open, in a vain attempt to get "sixes" sounds as desperate as anything. It had a success rate of perhaps 10% at the maximum. Am not questioning KP's captaincy. Just that he got this one wrong.

I think CSK will win this... 180 to chase is quite big in these conditions. Dhoni has the experience of defending lower totals than this. Great innings from Hayden and good contribution from Parthiv and Flintoff.

Its 47/3 now.... pietersen vs flintoff? hmmm...
