Would it be possible if I could substitute in? I'm fairly active and have a decent knowledge of cricket. I know you might be a tad reluctant to sub a new member in, but give me a chance please?
If I do get in, do I get 2 picks or 3 picks? As it is Round 5 and if I get 2 picks it appears I'll still be one player short (four players in total instead of five?).
I'd say 2 picks for now since your taking over Howsie's team which had already missed a pick. You'll get the pick eventually, but right at the end in a 12th round with the other missed picks. We can always slip that extra pick earlier if people feel you've been unfairly treated
Annoyed that Shrav took Lillee, so I'll go with another seriously quick bowler, Shoaib Akhtar. Bit of a twat, but can't argue with 223 wickets at 23.86.
doesn't matter, my next pick was still available for some reason.
Sourav Ganguly
odd he's not out yet, the other half of the indian opening partnership that was so brutal. Beautiful on the off-side, brilliant opener, 22 ODI tons and average over 40.

There's a rush on pace bowlers, but no one picked the one I was thinking of picking 2 rounds ago
Brett Lee
Searing pace is Lee's trademark and he's parlayed that pace into 8th spot on the all-time wicket tally with 324 ODI wickets, at almost 2 per match. He has a phenomenal strike rate of 29.2, better than any other bowler to take 100 wickets (edit: except Shane Bond who beats him by .03 of a ball, but Bond's taken less than half the wickets Lee has). Lee can swing both new and old balls and has been a capable bowler at the death too with inswinging yorkers.
That's the role he'll have in my team: strike bowler, to complement Garner and Hadlee's stingyness. It'll be his job to push for an early wicket, come back in the middle to find some reverse swing before the ball change and then bowl a couple of death overs.
Lee is also a very complete cricketer which raises him above bowlers who might be viewed as having similar abilities with ball. His batting is quite useful, his fielding is excellent for a fast bowler and he's one of cricket's nice guys - a great bloke to have in the dressing room.

Oh and I've run the random order for rounds 7 and 8 too. I guess it could affect how you pick in round 6 if you have a short or long wait for your 7th round pick, so I thought I'd do it now.

A clam force in the ODI scene, Hussey is one of the modern day greats of the game. He scores his runs quickly and effectively, and can score runs all around the ground. With an average of 53 and a strike rate of 88 in ODI cricket, he joins Bevan to form an amazingly strong lower middle order.
