Ian Chappel: Well England started off well, with 3/97 at Lunch but the Australia's middle order was up to the challenge of rescuing the innings

Mark Taylor: Michael Hussey was brilliant wasn't he?

Ian Chappel: Yes the so called "Mr Cricket" saved the day again. His 123 not out was one of the best in his career. It was brilliant

Mark Taylor: Well we now have Michael Hussey in the studio. Hello Michael congratultions on your centuray today. What are the plan for tommorow

Michael Hussey:Well hopefully we can make 500 plus and then get a couple of early wiickets when we put England in to bat

Ian Chappel: On a personal note though, no teams seams able to get you out

Michael Hussey: Well thats a good thing. But they'll find a weakness one day but hopefully its no time soon

Mark Taylor: Thanks for that Michael. Now we have Mathew Hoggard. Now Mathew how do you think your team went today?

Mathew Hoggard: Well we started off brilliantly, taking three wickets in the first session but Michael Hussey just dominated us today, along with Michael Clarke

Ian Chappel: 2 wickets today Mathew, are you happy with that?

Mathew Hoggard: Yes but I would have liked one more but I'm happy just to be in the squad, I've been traing really hard and I feel like I really deserve this opertunity

Mark Taylor: You should of had 3 though, you should have got Clarke on 48 but Jones wasn't able to hang on to it

Mathew Hoggard: Yes well it happens, I've dropped some catches in my career and I know how it feels hopefully Jonsey will be able to make up for it tommorow

Ian Chappel: Thanks Mathew. Well see you next time on "After Stumps"

Ian Chappel

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After Stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. Now Ian its been a tough day for the Aussies

Ian Chappel: Yes well it was always going to be I thought after England bowled the Aussies out for under 450. Then they came out to be 3/201 at Stumps. So its been a good day in all departments for England

Mark Taylor: Well joining us now is the fiery speed machine, Shaun Tait. Welcome to the show Shaun and congartulations on your performance today, 2 wickets you must be pretty pleased with that

Shaun Tait: Yes I'm delighted. Unfortunatly the other bowlers prehaps didn't do as well as they should have but hopefully that will change for tommorow and hopefully we can have a bat tommorow and score some runs and set a big total for England to chase in the last innings. But like you said I'm just so pleased that the selectors gamble paid off

Ian Chappel: Now you've been playing the year with the redbacks and your teams is really struggling. Which is a dissapontment with players like Lehmann, Elliott, Ferguson, Cullen, Bailey and you in the squad. Whats going on?

Shaun Tait: Yes its been a dissaponting year for me and the boys, some of its been luck that hasn't gone our way but our performances this year aren't acceptable. Except for maybe the Ford Ranger cup against New South Wales our performance has been unacceptable

Mark Taylor: Thanks for that Shaun. Now Ian lets take a look at things from an England perspective now

Ian Chappel: Well its been a good day for them with a big score and good bowling

Mark Taylor: Well thats the end our show, we will see you next time on "After Stumps"
