Good lead for Australia here. Probably should rack up a big total and put the English batsmen under pressure.

AUSTRALIA IN LEAD BY 218

Australia have a handy lead going into day 3. There are 1/97, 218 runs inn front of England. The 2 batsmen at the crease are Hayden (49*) and Ponting (36*). Langer was the only man to go, edging a catch to slip off Harmison for only 8

Ian Chappel

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After Stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. Hello Ian. How much of a chance do England have?

Ian Chappel: Hello Mark. Well its been and interesting day. They have a chance but they must restrict Australia to 350 or less otherwise it will be to late.

Mark Taylor: I have here Shane Warne. Now Shane how do you think your teams been going?

Shane Warne: Hi Mark. Well the boys are doing great. Hopefully I can take some wickets whenever England come out to bat.

Ian Chappel: Ricky Pontings been in great form. Do you reckon he'll win the upcoming Allan Border medal?

Shane Warne: Yes anyone who makes the amount of runs he did this year deserves to. He's a top class player and he'll be looking to win it.

Mark Taylor: Well thanks for that Shane. I have now Nassar Hussain. Now Nassar what do England have to do to win this Test.

Nassar Hussain: Well Mark I thinks they have to do what Ian said, restrict them to 350 and they need a solid opening partnership.

Ian Chappel: Now there been a rumor in the news that Andrew Stauss has been caugght drinking at 3:00 am in the morning last night. Is this true?

Nassar Hussain: Not in my opinion. The team is 100 percent focused on the game and it would take a very stupid man to do that and Andrew is not stupid.

Mark Taylor: Thanks Nassar. That wraps up our show. See you next time on "After Stumps"

Hmm. Andrew Strauss caught drinking - a possible interesting twist to your story. Also nice to see Hayden find some form.

AUSTRALIA IN STRONG POSITION AT LUNCH

At Lunch on Day 4 Australia are 324 runs ahead of England. The 2 batsmen at the crease are Hayden (104*) and Clarke (44*). Monty Panesar was the best of the bowlers with 2/35 snaring the wickets of Ponting (40) and Martyn (0). It was a dissaponting innings for Martyn who is stuggling for form

Ian Chappel

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After Stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. Now Ian how has today gone in your opinion

Ian Chappel: Hi Mark. Well its been a fantastic day of cricket today and its going to be an even better one tommorow

Mark Taylor: We have with us Glen McGrath. Now Glen do you think England can make the runs or will your attack be too strong for them

Glen McGrath: Well they are a big chance. 356 and 10 wickets in hand, anythings possible. But hopefully I can knock over there top order early in the morning

Ian Chappel: How important will Shane Warne be do you reckon

Glen McGrath: Very. Shane is always dangerous on the last day and with the pitch deteriating he will be very important

Mark Taylor: Are there any excuses for the middle order collapse today

Glen McGrath: No not at all it was good at all but we still have a good lead going into tommorow

Mark Taylor: Now Andrew Stauss has aparently been caught drinking at 3:00am in the morning. Whats your opinion of this

Glen McGrath: Well I haven't heard anything yet but England must have kept it very hush-hush. Well drinking at 3am in the morning isn't going to help there Ashes campain but well have to wait for it to become more public

Ian Chappel: Thanks for that Glen. Unfortunatly Nassar Hussain couldn't be here today so we will have to end early tonight. Well see you nect time on "After Stumps

AUSTRALIA IN MATCH WINNING POSITION

Brett Lee and Glen McGrath also chipped in with a wicket each but it was all Warne. The 2 batsmen at the crease are Pietersen (31*) and Anderson (1*) who have no choice but to bat for the draw
