Good session for England, as they got rid of the big threats in Punter and Gilly. They need to wrap up this innings soon after tea.

AUSSIES TIGHTEN GRIP ON MATCH

Australia are in a brilliant position, largely thanks to the Australian bowlers. McGrath, Watson and Clark all took a wicket during that session which left England at 4/158. The 2 batsmen at the crease are Peitersen (34*) and Flintoff (20*). These 2 will need a big partnership to get England back in the game

Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. Now Ian how do you think today went?

Ian Chappell: Hi Mark. Well today was a great day in Australia's point of view. There bowlers were on top of England all day and there top order just crumbled.

Mark Taylor: We have with us now Stuart Clark. Now Stuart. How do you think you went from a personal point of view?

Stuart Clark: Hi Mark. Well I would have liked maybe just 1 more wicket but 1/32 isn't that bad. Hopefully we can knock over the rest of the order tommorow morning.

Ian Chappell: Now do you think you will bowl them out in time to enforce the follow on?

Stuart Clark: Well I don't know. I hope so but with 2 quality batsmen in Pietersen and Flintoff, anything can happen.

Mark Taylor: Well thanks Stuart, were now joined by Nassar Hussain. Now Nassar, what will England have to do to get out of this terrible mess

Nassar Hussain: Hi Mark. Well they need a 100 plus partnership between Pietersen and Flintoff and then they need Jones to make some runs.

Ian Chappell: Was there any good signs from an England point of view?

Nassar Hussain: No it was a very pathetic effort today. Strauss and Bell both made starts but failed to carry it on. They will need a big effort tommorow if they want to win.

Mark Taylor: Well that raps up our show. Thanks Nassar and thanks Ian. We'll be back tommorow straight after play. Bye

Peitersen knocks century, but is it enough?

England are 6/257 at Lunch on Day 3. The two batsmen at the crease are Pietersen (101*) and Anderson (8*). Pietersen will need someone to hang around with him so he can make some runs.

To answer your question, I don't think it is enough. Australia would be looking to wrap up the innings inside 300.

BRETT LEE RIPS THROUGH LOWER
ORDER

Brett Lee has ripped through Englands lower order taking 5/82. England were all out for 330, 121 runs behind Australia. Kevin Pietersen was the only good thing to come out of the innings, making 152 not out. Australia will look to get a big lead before letting there bowlers back at England
