Ian Chappel

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After Stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. So how did today go in your opinion?

Ian Chappel: Well I though it went in favour of Australia because they got early wickets and got the big one of Pietersen but England did manage a respectable total so if Flintoff and Jones can score some runs they should get over 350

Mark Taylor: We're now joined by Shane Warne. Now Shane how did your team go today?

Shane Warne: Hi Mark. Well I though we came out on top but only just but luckily we got Pietersen out early because hes in red hot form

Ian Chappel: What about your own form?

Shane Warne: Yeah I was reasonably happy with my game today. 2/51 is ok and I'm aiming for 4, maybe 5 if I'm lucky tommorow.

Mark Taylor: Any plans of retirement?

Shane Warne: Not yet but like I keep telling everyone, my body will tell me when its time to go. But I feel great at the moment and if I keep getting wickets, I'm happy

Ian Chappel: Thanks Shane we are now joined by Paul Collingwood. Now Paul good effort today

Paul Collingwood: Yeah I was happy with my 71 but I would of liked to go on with it and score a 100 but I'm happy with that and I feel I contribuated to the teams effort today

Mark Taylor: Whats got to happen to get a big total?

Paul Collingwood: Well Andrew and Geriant have to score alot of runs. Hopefully we can get over 350 and give our bowls soemthing to defend.

Ian Chappel: Thanks for you time Paul. We'll see you next time on "After Stumps"

HONOURS EVEN AT TEA

Phil Jaques has helped his team get to 3/165 at Tea on Day 2. He made 74 not out, dominating the England bowlers with his great stroke play. Hoggard was the one who got him, getting an edge that travelled through to the keeper. Ponting (51*) and Clarke (23*) are the 2 batsmen at the crease

Ian Chappel

Mark Taylor: Hello and welcome to "After Stumps" I'm Mark Taylor and alongside me is Ian Chappel. Now Ian after todays play who do you think is in the best position to win?

Ian Chappel: Hi Mark. Well at the moment the match is evenly poised. If Gilchrist and Clarke go on with the job and both hit hundreds, then Australia will win but if England get early wickets tommorow then England will win

Mark Taylor: We are now joined by Australia's Michael Clarke. Now Michael do you think you will go on to triple figures tommorow?

Michael Clarke: Hello Mark. I was happy with my form today so hopefully I can carry it over to tommorow and hopefully cement my spot in this Australian side

Ian Chappel: So how do you think your teams going overall?

Michael Clarke: Yes we're going pretty good. We were happy with our bowling, restricting England to under 300 but our batting could have been better. Its going to be harder to bat tommorow, there was some cracks starting to appear in the pitch which will create some uneven bounce

Mark Taylor: Are you looking forward to the upcoming VB series?

Michael Clarke: Yes but our main goal at the moment is regaining the Ashes and there isn't a single person in the squad who is not 100 percent focused on that

Ian Chappel: Thanks for that Pup, we're now joined by Nassar Hussain. Now Nassar have you been impressed with your lot?

Nassar Hussain: Thanks Ian. Well there batting wasn't as good as it should have been but I'm sure they have learnt from there errors and are going to look to turn that around for the second innings

Mark Taylor: What about there bowling?

Nassar Hussain: Well I've been quite impressed with there bowling to be honest. They've beentight and kept the runs down, but at the same time they've been very attacking so hopefully they can continue that tommorow

Mark Taylor: Thanks Nassar. That's all we have time for. We'll see you next time on "After Stumps"
