ENGLAND WIN MATCH AND TAKE SERIES TO 1-1

England have scored the 174 runs they needed to win the 2nd Ashes Test, with 6 wickets left in hand. Every England batter chipped in with a decent score, except for Trescothick who fell for only 6. It was a good day for England who now know they are good enough to beat Australia on there home turf

AFTER MATCH PRESENTATIONS WITH MARK NICHOLAS

Mark Nicholas: I'm here with the losing captain Ricky Ponting. Now Ricky dissaponting loss for you guys I guess

Ricky Ponting: Yes very dissaponting. Our batting was dreadful in the second innings and thats were we lost the game, so our batting department will have to improve before the Perth Test next week

Mark Nicholas: There was only one positive and that was Mike Hussey. He was brilliant wasn't he

Ricky Ponting: Yes we should have had him here in the first test but he showed he deserved his oppertunity by hitting two centurys in 2 innings

Mark Nicholas: Now I move onto the winning captain Andrew Flintoff. Now Andrew, its must feel good to beat the Aussies

Andrew Flintoff: Yes its bloody brilliant. Our batters and bolwers all stood up when neaded and it was team effort, which in the end got us over the line

Mark Nicholas: Now you've got a 2 day game in Perth coming up. Whats going to happen there?

Andrew Flintoff: Well we might rest some players and give some others a god, like Ashley Giles but it will be good to have a practice hit out on the fast, bouncy pitch

Mark Nicholas: Well its time to announce the man of the match award. No suprises here, Michael Hussey has won it. Now Mike, brilliant effort today and heres your check for $10,000 dolloars. Well done

Michael Hussey: Thanks Mark. I was happy with my performance, hopefully I can continue my form into Peth

i'll just put the scores of the England V Western Australia match up instead of doing it session by session

I'd just like to wish everyone whos posted on this thread a merry x-mas and a happy new year

TOUR MATCH END IN A DRAW

The 2 day Tour match between England and Western Australia has ended in a draw. England won the toss and elected to bat first on a fast, bouncy pitch, ideal for the fast men. They were bowled out for a mere 282, with young Ed Joyce top scoring with 87. The Western Australian bolwers were good with Brett Dorey taking 5 for 78. Then Western Australia batted and lost 2 early wickets but they were saved by a good partnership between Marsh and Voges. The England bowlers were not at there best but England were resting some of there better players
