Well than he should not keep wickets. He is such a senior member of the team. Did you see him get run out today? It was atrocious.
Lets assume he is a great batsman. He can go out and make a blazing hundred against Aussies and then drop ponting and miss hussey's stumping and both of these gentleman score hundred? What good will that hundred be in such situation. Kamran Akmal's pathetic keeping cost us a test match victory in Australia. If you could remember his performances in South African tour and Pakistan tour of England in 2005 IIRC, you will realise how much his incompetence has cost us. He is also a shadowy character due to his shoddy performance in sydney test. Master khan I hope you saw him miss watson's run out in second innings?:doh

Razzaq was poor in this Match, Kamran Akmal is best keeper we got, I agree he is sometime a liability but most times he plays well...Pakistan didn't lose because of him, if you look at the scoreboard then you will know.

Kamran Akmal may be a better batsman we have got but no way in hell you can call him a keeper. Have you ever seen a keeper who drops a catch every match and still gets selected. Kamran Akmal cost us a test match win in australia after 12 years of failure? Period
And yes I looked at scoreboard. Pakistan was going very well with only 80 to get with 5 wickets in hands and Kamran Akmal got him self run out running like a ******. Thats where it went downhill for Pakistan.

stars of the show were malinga and afridi but what a useful player mathews is becoming. 2-38 and a 50. that's an outstanding contribution.

i've seen many batsmen get runners because of cramps in recent years,
he was allowed a runner but at the discretion of the opposing team,
sangakkara didnt let him

If Afridi was injured Sanga would have allowed him a runner but he wasn't so he didn't allow him one. Remember the champions trophy in SA last year where England were playing South Africa and when Graeme Smith asked Strauss for a runner he didn't oblige.In my opinion he should have offered him but obviously Sanga didn't want to lose the match, so instead of whining about sport spirit and runners just move on. I'm sure if any of the lankans were in the same scenario Afridi wouldn't have offer a runner too.

something lanka have moaned about in the past so today seems abit hypocritical on their part.
i've moved on but just thought i would mention it cos lanka usually do moan when they get treated like this.
remember the sangakara runout vs nz, not 100% similar situation but same sort of sportsmanship principles
Fine you can call it whatever you want but i'll tell you one thing though atleast Sanga isn't a cheat like Afridi. I'm sure you and all cricket fans remember the ball biting incident very vividly. Was that sportsmanship? And besides why should someone offer 'good sportsmanship' to a cheat?

While the cramping thing is a test of fitness and really is fatigue more than injury, Afridi should not have had a runner. Also, I do not think that this aspect falls into Sangakkara's territory, it is really up to the umpires to determine whether a batsman should have a runner. That being said, I have seen batsmen on many occasions have runners (most notably Saeed Anwar's 194) for cramps / fatigue.
However, Sangakkara himself is not an honest man - the number of the times this man appeals for decisions that are clearly not out are amazing.

And get rid of Shahzaib, who can't play worth crap, as well as Shoaib Malik.
Butt will come good eventually (although the inswinger bowling him was very predictable), and Umar Amin looked as though he had a sound technique.
Put Kamran to open, and play Asad Shafiq in the middle order, and Ajmal to replace Malik so we still have 6 bowling options.
