Nothing wrong with using the part-timers today. In any case, Sehwag is much better than your ordinary part-timer. Good to see him bowling again. Hasn't bowled much after the shoulder injury.

Solid win. Need to improve as the tournament goes on though.

Afridi's not used to playing such a long innings. He normally gets out for less than 20 so he never really needed the fitness to play to 100.

he bowled 10 overs as well.... and then was captaining the side which is mental pressure in itself....

hats off to Afridi... one of his finest innings.... Pakistan has never lost a match when Afridi makes a 100 and they 90% win when Afridi scores a 50. Just goes on to show how crap the current batting line up is....

very true... I would like to see Kamran play as a batsman... he has better technique than our batsman. It will take a load of his batting, specially when he has to bat after dropping catches... with extra pressure.

Good win for India, especially feels so pleasing that Gambhir anchored us to victory there with that 82. Gambhir has become a crucial player for India and his bad form definitely hurts us. Hope this is where he regains his form back. Viru rocked with the ball! He is always a surprise weapon as far as bowling is concerned and Dhoni should use him like that. Dhoni batted well too coming into his first game after the break. Good that he demoted Raina down the order and had Kohli up at one down. Raina is not a one down player at all. He should bat when the big hits are needed and when he can swing to his heart's content. Nehra must be dropped for a spinner (Ojha). Nehra was poor, and conditions here favor spinners a lot (I think all games are at Dambulla).

Hope this game was good practice. Next one is damn crucial. Dont care if we dont win the cup, but BEAT PAKISTAN FOR GOD's SAKE!!!!

Beating Pakistan is the best option because Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka is always dangerous proposition (though we have had the wood over them in their backyard in recent times).

Akthar vs Sehwag would be interesting (miss the 'Akthar vs Sachin' battle badly). Hope Sehwag repeats that upper cut for six over third man against Akthar. Those shots from Sachin/Sehwag in that memorable WC 2003 match still lingers on.
