Real good attempt by batting order. Openers could not have given a better start. We should have scored a little more in last fifteen overs but still this total should be enough our rather skilled bowling to defend. Even if Umar Gul has one of his real bad day, other bowlers should be able to halt Indians.

Pakistan should really have gotten a bit more but still a very good total against a side lacking confidence. The Pakistani bowling is at least twice as good but, having said that, the pitch looks very very flat and if the Indian top 4 get off to a fast start, the lower order could finish off the total. This is still a 50/50 game.

NO! Irrespective of the result of today's match, India has to depend on the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka match to go through to the final

If India win today with bonus point,

• India go through to the final if Bangladesh dont win by a bonus point or lose to Sri Lanka

If India win today without a bonus point,

• India go through to the final if Bangladesh lose to SL. If Bangladesh win, they are through to final based on their head-to-head with India

If India lose today,

• India have to hope that Bangladesh lose to Sri Lanka. If that happens, three teams are tied on 4 pts and the head-to-head is also ruled out as teams have beaten each other. Net run rate will come into play and right now, India have the best run rate of the three (Ind, BD and SL)

So irrespective of today's result, India have to wait for the last game's result to know if they are in. How easy the wait will be depends on the result today.
