heyy boss....am back...epadi irukai..hehe...i used ur boss 4 version, extreme 3, for test match configs, omg! u've changed the gameplay completely wid the new patch, the look of cric 2005 is completely awwesome....but, hey.,,,,i dunno if it is an error or sumthng, wen i bowl an over pitched in-swinger for right hander wid no pace and full swing, the comp gets beaten and bowled...is it b'cuz of my superb bowling or a bug? b'cuz i played nz-eng, nz 19/4 and 3 got bowled just like dat, and i shud say the rev-swinging yorker and ther special deliveries u've made it tougher...awesome re....i got the 4th guy lbw of a rev-swinging yorker....but, plzzz...chk out that error i was telling, it happ in odis too, i even playd ind-eng in dry pitch and he does'nt get out dat much in those kinda length, but, wen spinners cum in, the cpu struggles terribly and sae, over pitched delivieres he just completely gets beaten...otherwise, nothing can touch ur patch in terms of REALITY! boss, u've changed the whole look of cric 2005, awesome... btw...is extreme 1 ,2 makes batting shots a bit easier?
 
Great patch Boss. I am using the Standard CGPv4 patch (20 overs) and the game now really rocks. I only play 10 overs matches either with the comp but mainly with friends.

The bowling is great with realistic swing and the pace of the outfield is almost perfect. Now, sometimes the ball stops just before reaching the ropes and for the first time in this game, I am seeing catches taken in the slips.

A couple of things though for ur next patch. The backfoot drives (normal) lack punch. If u can increase their power by just a fraction, that would be great. At present, I rarely get any runs from the backfoot drives. I also don't want the ball to rocket to the boundary almost every time like in a few other patches. I would just like the ball to go past the inner fielders for a single or a couple unless I really time it.

Another thing if it is possible, I would like to see some catches by the keeper. I have played 25 odd matches since I got the game and I have not yet seen a single catch by the keeper.

Looking forward to ur next patch but it would be great if u could release a minor update for the backfoot shots. ;)

hey boss, few things set it right...this patch will b beautiful, outfield i shud say is awesome...but, there are some shots dat we time sooo well and the ball stops right at edge of the rope, not many boundaries coming, some shots go rocketing, and wen nears the rope, it reduces speed considerably..there need lil bit more boundaries, but the 2's n 3's are coming in bunch, am loving it da...secondly, there is always need of edges, include a very slight number of edges for comp n for us too, as slips ain't get a single catch...make the short leg, silly point guys more involved wen spinners bowl, no catches seen there...else, this patch is the best! i don't think so any1 can make a better patch than this, but heyyyyyyyyyy....1 person can, and i.e.- U! hehehe...u can always make it better...cheers!
 
This patch is amazing. At first I thought that there were too many configs and i couldnt be bothered to use the patch. Then I tried your Patch 3 and was very impressed so i decided to try patch 4. I love it! The outfields are amazing!

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, if they have my apologies. Your standard is realy good, would like a few more edges from the top order but its realy good. The problem I have is with extreme, under hard mode. There are a cpl of bugs that I noticed. For example of the cpu bowls an incutter//swinger on off stump good length and the user plays forward defensive, he/she will get bowled. The ball seems to squeeze through the gap of about 1 cm somehow.....
The other big thing I noticed, by bowling at pitched up, just before the legs, outside leg stump, no pace full outswing for a pace bowler will comprehensively bowl out a batsman, every time!! Playing in SA on a normal pitch, I had SA out for 20 in the first innings and in the second for like 12!!! Somethingsnt right. I can attach a screen if you want me to.

It's got to the point with mine that the game plays for an over or two before crashing back to the desktop, and it's happening every time.

No problems though with any bowling files as reported earlier.

thank u to heyado for u'r fb as well as app. There is no fix for this so far. the only remedy is whenever the virtual machine error creeps, just press "Ignore" button and the game remains from where it hang. But in cgpv5 will definitely fix it.

hi mate!, thank u for u'r fb. Yap!, as am suggested in the doc, if u looking for an optimal game play, then u have to play with Standard CGPv4. (Extreme CGPv4- is for Pro Gamers, and the Fun CGPv4- is the time killer!). Abt the variants: all explained cleraly in the doc. but still it depends on u'r playing capacity.

thank u raider for u'r sugg. Am sure virtual machine err msg is not dep on burma's 4 gb patch, it may be due to the incorrect values on the reward/diffi values in test matches cgpv4. But some other hanging prob (i.e. suddenly crashes to the desktop with out a err msg) may be due to the graphical patches. i also get some unnotified hang down with some TV patches.

Naan Nallaa Irukkaen Ajay, nice to see u back and thank u for u'r app and comm. i assume u'r talking abt the bug in EXTREME CGPV4. isn't it?, as i was more concentrated on Std CGPv4, not paid much att to few things. anyhow as ext cgpv4 is pretty diff from std v4 as it was coded with only batting difficulty in mind. anyhow u may try ext v4 only if this bug not repeat often.

thank u for u'r nice rev and app andy!. will correct the shot's power prob as well as keeper catch involve in the game in upcoming v5.

thank u kannan for u'r fb and app. Extreme v4 isn't every one's cup of tea. It may have more twists thank u think for the game play. anyhow will fix few thinks if possible. (as of now, am concentrating more on standard game play!).

Hi Boss! wonderful work.
I'v done a lot of hard work in ur Extreme level 2 test match patch bz I'm a pro player and I luv challanges. Now the patch has bcum an awesom one 4 test matches.
Keep on doing great work!
EDIT- Actually I'v now found dat I'v put in immense hard work 2 get it right 4 a perfect test match patch. And I'v realized dat I'v created almost a complete new patch,so I'm planning 2 release it very shortly.

Thanks to all of u for u'r exp. CGPv5 will be scheduled to rel as a New Year Gift (on 1st Jan'2006 Eve) to PC community. So exp more comm/fb/rev abt cgpv4(std mode only)...

boss, in the new patch please make outfields little quicker than now.they seem to be way too slow now.
 
Hey boss stella patch rips anything so far
but like all patches there can be improvements like:
1.the outfield pacing is a bit dodgy like it goes really fast to really slow and i dont know if its possible but maybe could u like have differebnt paced outfields for instance like fast outfields in karachi and slower in lords
2.Some of the batting shots dont connect with the ball yet i still seem to hit it
3.And i think u need to fix one of the front blocks, i would normally just on drive or leg glance away but in test matches u like to block and make it feel more realistic
4.Some of the back foot shots could have a wee bit more power
5.Also on test match the ai score to quickly. they like try to smash everything

Hey Boss,

I have been constantly checking this thread to read the comments about your excellent patch. I agree with some, but some others ... :mad Anyway, just some thoughts/wishes for the new patch.

OUTFIELDS:
Outfields should definitely NOT be made faster. When a shot is timed well it is easy to reach the boundary, otherwise you get 1 or 2 runs - I can't see any problem with this. This is how it should be. And for anyone who is saying that the "super fielders" cut everything off - learn how to time your shots!!!!! When you time a shot right there is no way that the fielders can cut it off, even if it passes right next to them.

FORWARD DEFENSIVE:
There is still a problem with the forward defensive stroke. It is driving me crazy!!! It doesn't make sense for my batsman to face a ball pitched up on leg or middle stump and play a defensive stroke towards off stump. I have been bowled this way on a number of occasions because my batsmen do this. I save at the end of every over, so when it happens I quit and reload the match. But I wish this didn't happen.
This is important for Tests especially, but also for ODI's. Not even a tail-end batsman would bat like this these days when defending. Please fix it :upray

Other than these 2 things, which I really felt a strong need to comment on, I am loving CPGv4 and I am really looking forward to CPGv5. Thank you for making C2k5 worth playing m8 :clap

yeh gonzo is right, the foward defensive needs to be improved, a ball on middle stump or leg stump gets defended to cover! Also, CPU running needs to be improved, they run too late, when they should run as soon as they hit the ball. Also, CPU may hit the ball to 3rd man or fine leg and just not run. This has always been a problem but i feel with your patch it is exaggerated.

BACK FOOT DRIVES:
I have seen ppl say that these need more power. I agreed at first. But recently I started timing them properly!!!!!!! I can now regularly hit boundaries with the back foot drives - however, when I hit it hard enough (ie, time it) to go to the boundary (not with the 6 hit) it is always in the air to the inner ring of fielders. In one sense I like this as it makes the back foot drives a bit risky to play - if you mistime slightly you will be caught. BUT ... if you mistime badly the shot will go straight to ground or drop short of the fielder. This doesn't make sense.

A well timed back foot drive should go to ground fairly quickly and then travel powerfully. A mistimed back foot drive should be dangerous. The way it is now, I can hit a powerful shot (seems to be well timed) but it's very dangerous. If I mishit the shot it won't get me runs, but I won't get out either, because it will either go straight to ground or drop short of the fielder.

I understand that that the back foot drive is an inherently risky shot, but maybe the way you've made it risky can be changed. I don't see why we should be punished for timing the ball well. But if we mistime ... :gundown

So anyway, maybe these shots don't need more power. Maybe they need some tweaking for vertical direction (is that right?). Like what angle they leave the bat is what I mean.
