CGPv7 + IRCSU(v2) Released!!!, Download Now And Enjoy...

I'm liking this new patch a lot Boss :)

So far I've only tried Standard CGP for Tests, and I'm really enjoying it. I haven't tried the power variations. One thing at a time ;)

The outfields are excellent. Batting is still fantastic and the power tweaks are great. CPU bowling seems to have more variation in pace - I like this as it means you can mistime deliveries. The CPU batting is good too. It's tougher to get CPU out for a low score - but it CAN be done if you bowl properly.

It's a bit more challenging than CGPv3 but you can still play your strokes, which makes it even more enjoyable: the runs are still there, but you have to be a bit more careful at times.

I haven't seen any bugs, but I haven't played a ODI yet, so not sure if I'll see that one or not.

This is my favourite patch so far!! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I'm looking forward to trying the Fun & Extreme CGP as well - 3 patches in 1 ... fantastic :eek:

A little bit more feedback/praise:

It seems as though the ball is actually moving off the seam for CPU and us now :eek: Did you tweak this? I don't THINK I'm imagining this! If you are responsible for this then all I can say is, "Nice work :)". This is something that has been sorely lacking in c2k5 compared to c2k4.

I'm in the middle of my first 50 over ODI. Haven't had any visual c++ crashes. I'm batting first and loving it - got an excellent run rate (7.8) but am gonna have to ease back to conserve wickets for the last overs.

I will be interested to see how the CPU responds when it comes to the crease.

This is a seriously good patch, Boss. Nothing comes close :cheers

Ok boss played 20 over match with patch. Standard patch - Hard mode - 20 over odi configuration - Sharjah Ground.

Batting - It was perfect. All shots had perfect power and same shot always went in different directions. I can play any shot from it. I really loved the realsim it added. I like its batting.

Bowling - Started with Zaheer and Gillchrist smashed 7 fours in first over with 7 different shots. One ball was no ball. 29 runs were scored in just one over. Next over I went with Pathan and I was smashed for five boundaries this time. It was horrible bowling. I am not that pathetic in bowling but AI was batting like super Human. Please tell if someone else faced the same problem.

hi mate!, u can also use the power variant provided with std-50 overs ODI, in 20 overs ODIs is well. this is what i thought abt "Cross Configs" (remember?) in my intro article abt cgpv4!. this is the useful compatibility indeed. But not overcook to mix the thinks with btw game formats!(i.e. test --> ODIs vice versa!), results will be disasterous then.

thank u saurabh for u'r fb. didn't have that much time to test 20 overs game is the fact, as am more concentrate abt it in 50 Overs odi/TESTS. Anyhow if u need immediate remedy, go for power variants. that will be handy.

thank u to bring this crash bug in front. But again, i didn't had this problem on the entire period of making cgpv4 as well as playing with it now. Anyhow if u specify the "VC++ errror code" along with the Patch type/Game Mode/Game Format, there will be good chance to detect the bug.

*abt the seam movement intro: yap!, did few tricks and it paid off now!. try to face Mcgrath&co in EXTREME CGPv4 level 3/Test Matches/Hard Mode/green top. I keep on falling in to the body bag- bundled out!.
*abt the VC++ err code: as u also suggest, i didn't had this prob so far. will be interesting to know abt the "exact err code!". then there will be a fix.

When I replaced patch with CGPv3 it worked fine...

Got basically the same result as Ruud Pukya, an identical error playing a test match

But bowling was fine, just human batting.

Batting with cgp3, all OK

thank u mate for the "Error Code"!. Now am understanding the prob!. this will be a prob in test matches. i.e. in few shot files(particularly 6 hits), i make the "difficulty" value more than "reward" value which provide good results with previous EACs. but as this game compiled with error detection method, these err code keep on popping up when ever u play that stroke. thats the prob.

At present, there is a simple remedy for this!. Whenever the VC++ error code box creeping up, simply press "ignore" by passing with the arrow keys and enter. (no mouse cursor in there!) and the play will continue there after. but not press "abort" or "retry" button as it seems to crash the game to the desktop. (i notice that even at times, there won't be any dialog box appears, but the game hangs for the same reason. there u have to do the same thing prescribed above blindly.

Anyhow will sort this out in crash fix.

LOL :D Sounds like it will be as hard as facing the real McGrath :eek: Excellent work on the seam movement, mate. Makes batting and bowling heaps more challenging and fun.
 
Hey Boss, Nice patch but there are a couple of things that could be worked on

1) I think youv'e over done the seam movement off the pitch on green pitches. At first I was thrilled to see the ball moving around so much but after 43 overs you would expect the movement to atleast decrease which it doesn't do.

2) No edges for the top order but the bottom order receive heaps

3) The outfeild is too slow. The ball hardly ever reaches the fence with shot powers 1 or 2 but if you put 3 in it rockets to the fence and every shot is a 4. There is no middle which lets the ball sometimes go for 4 and others times pull just short.

Overall nice patch but I feel these areas need working on at the moment.

Thanks Boss for this patch, a lot of player skill levels covered in this version. I espically like that we don't have to change config when we bat and bowl. Keep up the excellent work.
 
Too many misfields by hapenning

Too many misfields are happpening in extrem config.The shot power of
all drives(on,straight,cover,backfoot)is too high,so before fielder reaches for ball to field it gets through him.

can u fix it?

* there is only way to change the seam atm, either increase it heavily or to nothing. i tested with diff values, but not as successful. atlease seam movement is evident now.

* ya!, slightly reduce the edge values for top order players for some stability. still, early on there is a good chance outside off stumps for edges. so keep the good line and length/vary u'r pace. eventually the edge will occur.

* ya!, outfield is different from other patches coz of variants. anyhow in variant 2 or 3, if u gain, more confidence/timing- the ball will fetch u lot of runs.

thnx mate for the fb. btw can u clarify on which pitch u'r playing with?. am thinking this is happen once in a while. let u know one thing, the misfields can't be happening due to power of the shot(occasionally -Yes!), is mainly due to bounce of the pitch. anyhow will fix this soon.

Hi Boss,

Any closer to a fix on the in-game error some of us are experiencing?

It's got to the point with mine that the game plays for an over or two before crashing back to the desktop, and it's happening every time.

No problems though with any bowling files as reported earlier.

do you use the 4 gb batpack by Burmasfinest, because if yes that may be the problem, if not then then reinsalll the am......
