Having someone like Delap in the side means that anything relatively close to the area is just like a corner, there is no escape for defences anymore!

Back in my playing days, I could sling the ball further than the penalty spot :)

I think many teams now will have set tactics for throw-ins just like for corners. Defenders who are good in the air will probably start coming up for long throw-ins as well. Could also mean that we could see a lot of goals scored from a counter attack if the ball gets cleared quickly.

We had JDV go up for most throw-ins last year, I think he won about 1 header. Then of course he had to plunder back to defence, and, let's be fair, he wasn't the quickest bloke you've ever seen.

On the subject of long throws, does anyone remember a player with the second name of "Challinor" that played for Tramere about 7 or 8 years ago. The longest throws I've seen are his and he came to attention when they played and beat premiership sides in the fa and league cup.

Dave weren't he?

Town had a monster-thrower, Thompson or something like that. Played in the 90's.

Seems you Coventry boys are quiet!

Awesome victory, same result as last season away. Goals from Adebola, McIndoe and then Brooker scoring again in the last minute, his 3rd this season coming in the last 10 minutes of a game. Were you at the game Rob or Craig? Would like to hear your views on it :p

Enough of the winding up, we'll get you back at Ashton Gate ... :p

Chris Coleman is a muppet, I have to say. If we had the same thing happen to us and Coventry scored and the goal was disallowed he would've gone mental.

Look forward to it Rob. Was at last seasons game at Ashton Gate. Beat you 2-1, and Mifsud was shocking which surprised me.

Hope everyone is going to watch SS1 @ 5.20 today :)

I won't be, though, I'm going to the Cinema.

Ha Ben. Making sure everyone does and then your not yourself. I won't be, playing cricket today. Will be hoping for a win against QPR like no other game, then I'll be able to rub it in to one of my team mates who supports QPR!
