Don Bradman Cricket Academy Beta 99.94d Available Now

I'm not going to get 'worried' for at least another week or 10 days, but what does concern me is that it seems to be available to pre-order from many stores in many countries - Aus, NZ, SA, India etc..whereas we haven't got any yet we're the second biggest market?

yes, I have made many posts to the same effect dating back to October I think. I've always been surprised that Amazon and Game especially have no mention of it.

I'd be really interested to know, how advanced if at all talks with these sorts of guys had got last year when the plan was still 26 Dec release (i.e. before Ashes 13), and if they had progressed at all why the game is still invisible with them. I know Ross said (in response to a similar post by me) that he wasn't worried at all and it was under control, but "the impression" (i.e. looking from the outside, obviously not knowing even close to all the factors) is that the UK distributors have been pretty unimpressive.

Maybe tru blu's sales pitch went something like: you know that team that stuffed yours in the ashes? You know, Australia!! Well us Aussies have made a game about the game you invented but can't play, oh and to rub it in we've named it after a bloke who used to clatter you lot to all parts for 20 years.... Do you want some copies?

the whole thing reminds me of a sado masochistic relationship... (us masochist, tru blu sadist)

masochist says "hit me", sadist says "no"

Gee block its been a pretty good start on here tonight, lots of humour, innuendo, the odd bit of niggling aggro, I'm sure Biggs won't be too disappointed with how its been goin, its vitally important in these threads to keep it up vibe and interesting

Funnily enough about half an hour ago i was thinking tonight was the night PC died

I would say there's more in the public domain on DBC14 before release then any other BA game beforehand.

I might be wrong. But the 1st anybody knew of RLL2 was when it was announced 3 weeks before release.

Probably an important point to make and one i certainly forget (often). For lots of us this our first experience of the BA/TruBlu method.

The amount of time given by the CEO of the company to us has been superb, not only it has been valuable, it has also been informative and knowledgeable. The journey has been splendid and just hoping here for a great finale. I have learned so may different things.

I think the marketing has been done, just checked Facebook's DBC 14 official page we hitting 17,000 and its rising with anticipation, Asia cup is in full flow and T20 WC is going to follow suit so DBC 14 is on the horizon, BTW England vs West Indies ODI tomorrow if england win maybe amazon list the product and other websites too :lol

Lets just hope its clear but as Ross has mentioned Tru Blu do things the badass way :spy i like the way they work i just cant wait to run chase above 250+ *Pakistan fans should know what i mean* :spy

At the risk of making shit up; I speculate the initial plan was just an Australian/New Zealand release initially to capitalize on the Ashes, then a roll out into other markets in 2014... When Ashes shit the bed, they obviously took the opportunity to be cautious and nail down their game, whilst staying clear of the shitfest that brought the internet? to a standstill rolled on.

So TruBlu were probably not even looking at other markets at that point. I also sympathize with Ross a little, as he's the face of the game by design, but the marketing stuff is handled by TruBlu and he's keeping a respectful distance form that now as they're obviously handling it full-time at the moment, but their approach to getting this game out, certainly overseas, is a little... different.

I've seen nothing in NZ for the game, apparently there were some displays in an EB Auckland store, but that's apparently gone. My pre-order is still active and waiting fulfillment though... Hizzah.

To add to this, judging from the posts we've had there also seemed to be an issue with those distributors supporting Ashes 13 and telling Big Ant and TruBlu to bugger off with their cricket game as they already have one.

Then Ashes went pear shape and all the distributors got scared of cricket games. So they didn't want to buy one. In December, the goal was to convince them all to sell the game and clearly that didn't happen in time for Christmas. But sadly, they were all still pretty burnt.

Wouldn't surprise me, because as I've said before 26th Dec seemed an odd day to release in the UK - no post (for online pre-order deliveries), and while it's a big shopping day, it's a "sales" time (i.e. people looking for discounts/bargains).

Ah well, either way with luck this time next week we'll all be reading a lovely trublu press release with a firm date in it...

If the big problem for tru blu is the UK market for instance, why not release it in the countries that do want to distribute it and when people start reviewing the product maybe they'll jump on board too! I live in UK but if that's what's stopping others getting the game it would be a shame fir everyone else

Nah, I expect weeks of comments suggesting that they are trying to make a deal with a UK distributor and there's options on the table, and then it will end up being Alternative Software like all the other Tru Blu games.

I doubt that BA/TruBlu can afford not to sell the game in one of the biggest markets.
