The question of how my attack will fare on a pitch that has made theirs look harmless gives me concern...

The answer thus far is my attack will haemorrhage 97 runs in 22 overs...

At least I winkled out 2 wickets though: Malcolm having Sohail caught behind for 9 and Gooch getting Raja again caught behind for 43 in the last over before tea, having shared a partnership of 75 with Shoaib Mohammed (38*)

3rd morning belongs to Pakistan though. After Malcolm trapped Malik early for 72, Akram (38*) and Latif (48*) shared an unbroken stand of 74 to take Pakistan into lunch on day 3 at 284/6.

New ball available immediately after lunch though...

Well I’ll try. I’d certainly prefer a 2-1 loss to a 3-1.

Assuming I get them out shortly after tea that means I probably need to be still batting lunch day 5... which is way longer than I’ve ever lasted i think.
