England Tour Of Bangladesh 2010

If Bresnan is Test class then I'm a dutchman, Finn is not ready for Test cricket and I think playing him here was of limited use. Be better to play a fringe bowler, someone like Plunkett, Tremlett or even Pattinson or Khan, someone who has played before and should be in a queue awaiting another chance. Except I don't believe the selectors work that way, they seem to be rather random in their 'selection policy' and it's rubbish.

That makes no sense, Bresnan has been a part of the ODI side for a while now, and some might say he is established. Khan and Pattinson?

I like Bresnan, don't think he's anything brilliant, but he's a good player.

A point so correct he had to make it twice. ;)

Bresnan might not be Dale Steyn, but he's a far more effective bowler than I thought he'd be. He's done well in ODi's and has bowled well on the whole in this Test. He has a good, solid action, bowls at a decent pace and is capable of extracting conventional swing, reverse and seam movement. Think it's incredibly harsh to consider Plunkett, Tremlett, Amjad or Pattinson ahead of him, those 3 are either inferior bowlers, or inferior and injured.

they need a top order batsman who can average 40 or there about, ideally two. They also need a good pacer now mortaza is gone.

get 3 players like that in and they would start beating teams.

Mortaza averages 35 in Bangladesh domestic cricket, he was never going really good at test cricket.

Hope it rains all day tomorrow and teaches Cook a lesson for not enforcing the follow on / batting so much on day 4.

Tired of these defensive English captains (Strauss was just as bad in the Windies)

How I miss KP as captain :crying

Indeed. I wouldn't mind Bangladesh batting out the day actually. Sure the bowlers would have been fairly tired after quite a few overs in the baking sun, but that batting performance was just woeful and is deserving of us drawing the game. We're just lucky we're playing against a side that would struggle in the English domestic system. Hopefully KP'll return as England captain at some point, would be nice to see Strauss dropped from the ODi side and KP take over the ODi and T20 reigns, that won't happen though.

we were able to say 'Riyad still to come and bat, but now .. :( Lets see what Naeem can do. And Shakib really let me down. He and his ugly looking sweep shots. He should be out there right now!

They cant score 322 runs. Thats a huge target. Just wanna see how long they can fight and how far they can go... Could be done 1st thing in the morning.

Sometimes he bowls spin in domestic, just to stay out of injuries. Sometimes stats isnt everything. Agree he isnt as good in Test, but he was better than current 1s. Look back at all the wins and good performances by Bangladesh, he was their main performer. The only flaw he has is that he suck at death overs, and that makes his stats look ████. To be honest, none of the Bdesh bowlers does.

Try dealing with 6 surgeries since 19 years of age, and still have the courage to come back. He is our best fast bowler.

Well said, but I never knew Mortaza bowled spin.

2 slips with the new ball against Bangladesh :doh

I can't stand watching this moron Cook, captaincy is not something that can be taught, you either have it or you don't and this guy is just awful. Uninspired and paranoid captaincy, England will have to consider giving it back to KP. He is easily the best man for the job.

The amount of respect the Bangla's are getting right now, you'd think this is the Ashes and England are the ones trying to save the match.

Great partnership between these two, it's lasted 50 overs. Another 50 overs from these two would make this game interesting :D It would have been so much easier for England had they enforced the follow-on.

I think it's about time Mushfiq plays as a batsman and someone like Dhiman Ghosh takes the gloves so we can get rid of Aftab/Ashrafool/Kayes. Junaid's doing very well here but I'm sure he will fail in the next match.

Ok, if I am jealous of Pietersen's talent and self confidence, how come I don't hate all international cricketers?

He is an idiot, I don't like idiots, it is as simple as that.

As for this match, what the hell was the thinking behind 6 batsmen and 4 bowlers?

Hasn't Bell scored enough runs v Bangladesh already?

4 frontline bowlers would be just fine if Cook actually used KP and Colly. :facepalm

Its ridiculous that Colly has not bowled at all this match. These two have already batted 50 overs

It's getting a little bit interesting, these two are surviving but have kept scoring the runs as well which is very good. I know there will be a time when one wicket falls the rest will fall cheaply.

khalek added 1 Minutes and 24 Seconds later...

100 for Junaid, what an innings under pressure. Hope this is the beginning of a changed Junaid Siddique!
