The indian fans are here in force today to support their team even though they were on the wrong end of a heavy beating from England in their last outing, maybe their hoping to really get behind the squad today and give them the boost they need to combat this enthraling English machine. In the first test England played some wonderfull cricket and fully deserved the massive win margin that they achieved inside 4 days, they will be going out with the intention of wrapping up this three test series and setting themselves up for a whitewash, however, if India win they will really fancy themselves to take the series on home turf.

India lineup with the same team as before which i think is a big mistake, thier left handed seamers didnt trouble Englands batsmen whatsoever, especially the opening paring of Strauss and Trescothick, left handed bowlers to left handed batsmen. They werent exactly on the spot either, most balls were in the slot which is why Strauss managed to grab so many runs, i dont think he will ever get close to that worl record again but he is certainly a special talent.

You would be a fool to change a team that has just won by an innings, which is why England also remain unchanged, if they perform half as well as they did in the first test then India have got a real game on thier hands because they didnt really turn up at all before, i dont think it would have made a huge difference anyway because England were on fire. Im predicting another England win here and a series whitewash too, thsi Indian team have great inidviduals but not an ounce of togetherness..

India Come Back Stong As England Struggle:

The Indian openers have dominated the early encounters with the English bowlers here, wayward lines and not a lot of help from the conditions have hampered Englands wicket taking. Ghambir raced to his 50 at about a run a ball and Sehwag has taken a back seat for once. This seems to have thrown England and the field settings had to be muddles around a bit. They seemed to have stemmed the flow of runs at the moment but they desperately need a breakthrough because if one of these two men get in then they can make big, big scores very quickly and take the game away from England. The pressure is mounting on the pace attack, we may see some spin soon which would give the seamers a welcome rest.

Sehwag Gest Frustrated And The Big Man Gets The Breakthrough:

There will be a few beads of sweat wiped from a few senior members of the England touring staff as Andrew Flintoff finally breaks the deadlock for the away side. Verinder Sehwag is the man out, he played an unusually subdued innings in comparison to the stunning century he scored in the first test. I think not scoring fast enough really got to him and when Andrew Flintoff floated a slower ball outside the off stump his scooped the ball right up into the air allowing Marcus Trescothick in the covers to collect the ball with ease. The whole team is absolutely elated at having taken the initiative just before Lunch but they still cant hide the fact that this has been a ver bad session for them.

Lunch Day 1:

We reach lunch on the first day of the second test here in Kolkata and India seem to have the upper hand, however, they haven?t scored extremely heavily but they havnte lost the wicket of their main run provider. England have been very poor in their bowling, bad lines, wrong lengths and even worse field placements but they seem to have this problem sorted out now and are back in force. After lunch they will be looking for another quick wicket and to introduce the spinners into the attack, whether the ball will turn or not is another question but at least it will give the quickes a break and rough up the ball!

India have the advantage but England could swing it easily with a few quick wickets.
