Brett Lee plunges England into trouble ​

Having lost the important wicket of opener A.Cook, England were on the backfoot but England captain M. Vaughan came in the middle to bat . Vaughan is making a comeback in test matches as he was out of the international cricket for sometime due to a knee injury . Vaughan's inclusion in this England batting line up makes their batting lineup strong . Vaughan has a good record in test matches with 15 test centuries and 14 half centuries with the best score of 197 .

After picking the wicket of Cook, the Australians were on top of the match and Ponting was making changes to the field making it more aggressive . The Australians are going for the kill as Vaughan who is making a comeback to the test matches will like to get some runs under his belt . Vaughan might have gone first ball but he was lucky to survive as the inswinging ball from McGrath missed the offstump . Vaughan was not looking comfortable and Ricky Ponting was applying more and more pressure . Soon McGrath over pitched one to Vaughan and he went after the ball managing to get an edge but the ball went over the 2nd slip for four lucky runs. Strauss was also in some kind of trouble as he played and missed on few occasions and on one occasion he edged one but there was no third slip .

Brett Lee who was bowling aggressively soon got the wicket of England captain M.Vaughan . Lee was bowling at a great pace but he bowled a slower one to Vaughan and invited him for the drive . Vaughan went for the drive but he was deceived with the slower ball and played the shot too early . The ball was in the air and it went straight in the hands of M.Clarke . Vaughan score just 16 runs with the help of two boundaries both lucky to come of the edge of the bat and flying over the slips .

Brett Lee finally got his reward with some good bowling and he truely deserved the wicket of Vaughan . Ian Bell is the new batsman for England. Bell has a goo test record and once with an average of 43.72 with 5 centuries . It is important for Bell to build a solid partnership with Strauss as England have lost 2 wickets for just 52 runs.

Brett Lee bowled a good outswinger to Bell but Bell was happy to leave the ball . But the next ball Brett Lee bowled a good length delivery which came in after pitching and Bell was struck on the pads . All the Australian players went up for the appeal and this time Billy Bowden didn't make any mistakes and raised his finger to declare Bell out . Bell was disappointed as he was out 2nd ball with no runs scored.

Australia are right on top of the match with England on 52/3 still trailing by 367 runs with just 7 wickets in hand. Kevin Pietersen is the new batsman for England and he is the only batsman who can start building a partnership and score quick runs as well.

Superb fast bowling by brett lee. Vaughan looked promising but soon departed. It is upto KP now to rescue. Strauss may not play a big innings. Awesome presentation as always

The England still have some batting to follow . At 52/3 with Pietersen and Strauss at the crease , England have good batting left in their lineup with Collingwood,Flintoff and Jones to follow . Lets see if Australia will get quick wickets or will England fightback in the match .
