Half Century for Kevin Pietersen​

Kevin Pietersen scored a good fighting half century and now England are really getting a move on . Pietersen came to the crease when England were 1/1 in 1 over. That was a pressure situation and soon Strauss departed . But then Pietersen and Collingwood were very watchful and were good in shot selection as well. Pietersen had to change his natural gameplan and was on the defensive in the start but then he adjusted nicely and then went after the lose balls and kept hitting few boundaries as well . Soon there was a bit of tense moment where B.Hogg and K.Pietersen very staring at each other angrily after Pietersen hit him for a boundary and it seemed to be Australia's tactics to invite Pietersen for the big shot as the field was also closing in . In the next over of B.Hogg , Pietersen went for a slog sweep and connected it handsomely and the ball just kept on sailing over the boundary ropes and it was out of the stadium. That is the biggest six of the tournament .

But on this pitch Hogg is not turning the ball too much but he is bowling few straighter one's and arm ball as well. But when Pietersen gets going he is the most dangerous batsmen and when he is form then its difficult to get him out .He is fighter

Century Partnership for the 3rd wicket​

Some good news for England fans as Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood got a century partnership for the 3rd wicket under difficult conditions and also under pressure situation. This partnership has helped England to rebuild their innings and now it seems like a good contest going on .
Kevin Pietersen started scoring quickly after scoring his half century and Paul Collingwood is still providing a good supporting role . Pietersen is showing no-mercy towards the Australian bowlers and now it looks like Aussies are feeling the pressure which was not on the cards. Pietersen scored two back-to-back boundaries in an over of S.Watson. Meanwhile Paul Collingwood is playing well against the spin of B.Hogg and got couple of boundaries to his name as well. The 3rd wicket partnership between Pietersen and Collingwood consist of 111 runs in 150 balls with Pietersen scoring 62 (match score 66) of those while Collingwood scored 39 and there were 11 extras also which mainly consisted of Leg-Byes.
